Installing Digital Carriage
on Bosch 4100 Table Saw
1) Remove Left End Plate from Front Rail
Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, loosen and remove the two (2)
flat head screws and the left end plate from the front rail 11.
These parts will be replaced and can be discarded (fig.2).
2) Slide Digital Carriage on to Front Rail
Align the digital carriage 1 to the left side of the front rail 11 (figs.
2 and 3). Looking from the left side, carefully place the top of the
carriage's two (2) upper glide pads 12 (U-shaped plastic parts)
just below upper guide rails 13 of the aluminum front rail 11 (fig.
3). Slowly slide the digital carriage on to the front rail so the
carriage's left side is about 1/2 inch past the left edge of the front
rail (fig. 5).
3) Attach Left Parking Plate to Front Rail
Place the new left parking plate 2 over the left side of the front
rail 11 so that the 2 holes of the plate line up with the threaded
screw holes in the rail (figs. 4 and 5) – Be sure the twist-tie 15
from the carriage is coming through the large square hole in the
plate (figs. 4 and 5). Place the new flat head screws 3 through
the plate's chamfered screw holes and drive the screws into the
rail using a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
4) Slide on Wire Shroud
Align the wire shroud 4 to the front rail 11 (figs. 4 and 5). Slide
the wire shroud on the front rail, but leave about 1/2 inch
hanging out. Important: Make sure the shroud is placed in the
rail with its threaded screw hole facing the left (open) side.
