Installation and Operation manual G.A.S.-pro
We want to congratulate you on buying a new G.A.S.-pro. You have purchased a system
that is technically state-of-the-art, and has been tested and approved according to
the European Motor Vehicle Directive. G.A.S.-pro detects narcotic gases, bottled gases
and, depending on its equipment level, also carbon monoxide in the most minute
concentrations long before these gases have reached a threatening concentration.
To make installation and use as simple and error-free as possible, the G.A.S.-pro is
equipped with AutoSense inputs, dynamic temperature adjustment and an automatic
self-test function.
1. Sensor positioning/mounting:
- Depending on the vehicle type, the use of several sensors may be necessary.
- If only one bed is to be protected, the sensor should not be positioned more than one
meter away from the bed. Best mounting height is near to the floor.
- If several beds at different heights are to be protected, it is recommended that additional
sensors be positioned near the beds (near to the floor).
- If the cable length is not sufficient, the cable can be extended with commercially available
cable of the same or a larger cross section to a maximum of 7 m.
Information: Both narcotic and bottled gas is heavier than air!
- If a CO sensor is used, it can be mounted at any desired height, as
carbon monoxide has the same density as air.
The following installation locations are not advisable:
- Heater vents (minimum distance 1 m)
- Lead-acid battery (minimum distance 1.5 m)
- Bathroom unit
1.1 Preparation for mounting:
Drill a hole at the mounting location (20 mm or 12 mm for CO sensor)and press in
the bushing provided from the outside.
1.2 Securing sensor:
Secure the sensor from the inside using the screws provided.
!!! Never use adhesives containing solvents or sealing compounds containing silicone!!!
2. Mounting location of device:
- As there is no sensor in the device, the G.A.S.-pro can be mounted at any desired
location (including in a cabinet).
- Mounting in the immediate vicinity of the heater or boiler is not advisable, as this can
impair the dynamic temperature adjustment.
- If the G.A.S.-pro is mounted in a cabinet, the use of an external siren (Art. No.:100190)
may be advisable, as the internal buzzer might be overheard.
- As the power indicator is located on the front of the housing, the use of an external power
indicator (Art. No. THG-2-00004) may be advisable when the device is mounted in
a cabinet.
