DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION

The Low Voltage Foot Switch is a tool designed to work with most
cable installation pullers. During its operation, it monitors line volt-
age and amperage for unsafe operating conditions and safely shuts
down equipment if an under voltage, over amperage conditions to
equipment is diagnosed.

IDENTIFICATION

1. POWER Indicator
2. VAC LOW Indicator
3. OVERCURRENT Indicator
4. Amperage Lightbar Indicator
5. Foot Switch Actuator Pedal
SET UP AND OPERATION
1. Plug foot switch into a 10 gauge 20 Amp 120 Volt extension cord.
Power Indicator (1) will illuminate.
2. If Low AC Voltage is indicated, LOW VAC Indicator (2) will illumi
nate. Address source of power to ensure proper 120 volts 60
hertz is being supplied to foot switch.
3. Plug equipment power cord directly into back of foot switch.
4. Once equipment is ready to be used, use foot to press the Foot
Switch Actuator Pedal (5) to transmit power to the equipment.

SET UP AND OPERATION
5. If at any time an over amperage condition is indicated, the OVER
CURRENT Indicator (3) will illuminate and all power to the equip
ment will terminate.
6. To reset an overcurrent condition, lift foot from Foot Switch
Actuator Pedal (5) and wait 20 seconds. To resume normal
usage, apply foot pressure to the Foot Switch Actuator Pedal (5).
7. Amperage Lightbar Indicator (4) contains 10 LED lights that will
illuminate with green, yellow and red lights relative to the amount
of amperage that is flowing through the foot switch. Each light
that illuminates indicates 3 amps for a total of 30 amps.
8. If motor is running in HIGH speed and all 10 LED's are illumi
nated, user should switch equipment to LOW speed to prevent
over amperage condition.
NOTE: Product is designed as a failsafe and is not intended to
protect equipment below 30 amps. Please consult equipment
owner's manual to determine if product should be in low gear prior
to 30 amps.

MAINTENANCE

1. Keep Low Voltage Foot Switch clean.
2. Visually inspect plugs and cables on back of foot switch for
frayed or damaged wiring.
3. Repairs should be made by a Southwire approved Repair Facility.
