Flexima®/ Softima® Active is a one-piece range
of collecting pouches for enterostomates. It
offers a unique skin protector developed by
B. Braun using the B. BraunTech formulation
which provides high comfort thanks to its high
flexibility and immediate adhesivity.
Available in*:
- closed pouch with flat and ultra soft convex
skin protectors,
- drainable pouch with an integrated soft clamp
called "Roll'up", in flat and ultra soft convex
versions
Indications for the ultra soft convex skin
protector:
The Ultra Soft Convex skin protector is specifically
designed to ensure a secure seal around the
stoma:
for stomas located in light or moderate skin
n
folds
or flushed or slightly retracted stomas
n
The ultra soft convex skin protector helps to
prevent leakages, by tight-fitting the peristomal

area. For extra security you can use one out of
the three positions (H,I) of the belt loops of the
ultra soft convex skin protector to fix the belt.
1 Preparation of the skin:
Wash your hands.
n
Gently clean the area around the stoma with
n
lukewarm water and carefully dab the skin
with soft tissues.
Avoid using any disinfectant (either alcohol or
n
any antiseptic) as this could damage the skin
and prevent proper adhesion of the pouch.

Before setting up your appliance, first:
Cut the skin protector if you are using a cut-
n
to-fit pouch so it fits the size of your stoma,
taking good care to follow the cutting guide
print (do not cut beyond the limit). Ensure you
leave 2 to 3mm around the stoma (A).
3 Fitting your appliance:
Separate the pouch walls by crumpling it slightly
n
to introduce air into it.
Peal off the clear release by pulling on the arrow
n
