PROGRAMMING
Preliminary information
Before programming the FTDUO interface
please verify that the videointercom sys-
tem is working properly. For programming
FTDUO must be used a telephone, with
DTMF features, connected to any exten-
sion of the PABX, but enabled to call the
extension to which FTDUO is connected;
during the programming phase or dur-
ing conversation with the door station,
the red LED fl ashes three times, to use
the device it is necessary to wait until the
red LED comes back to fl ash only once.
Starting/Resetting the device
(888-90-000)
At the fi rst start-up or to come back to the
factory values of the device it is necessary
to operate as follows:
1. Using a telephone connected to the
PABX, call the extension to which FT-
DUO is connected, wait for the calling
tone and later for three short beeps;
2. Dial 888-90-000;
3. Wait for three short beeps which confi rm
that the code has been accepted, and
then hang-up the telephone or continue
with another programming;
4. If the three short beeps are not emitted,
hang up the telephone set and start again
from the point 1.
Once ended the procedure for starting/
resetting, the device will be programmed
with the following values:
-
First user address U1
and room address S1=1 (Room 1/
Slave)
-
Addresses for users U2, U3, U4
AAA2, AAA3, AAA4 and room
addresses S2, S3, S4 not pro-
grammed;
-
manual answering procedure for all
the 4 users U1, U2, U3, U4;
-
Telephone number associated to all
the 4 users U1, U2, U3, U4 → N1,
N2, N3, N4=440 ("General Call" to all
the extensions, for the Farfi sa PABX
FT208E).
Programming DUO address of users
U1, U2, U3, U4
(888-74-U-AAA)
To each user U, stored in the FTDUO inter-
face, must be assigned a valid Farfi sa DUO
address, to program the address operate
as follows:
1. With a telephone connected to the PABX,
call the extension to which the FTDUO
is connected, wait for the calling tone
and later for three short beeps;
2. dial the access code 888;
3. dial the programming code 74;
4. dial the number U of the user to be pro-
grammed (from 1 to 4);
Mi 2503/2
5. enter the DUO address
001 to 200) associated to the user U;
6. wait for three short beeps which confi rm
that the code has been accepted and
then hang-up the telephone or continue
with another programming;
7. if you get a short beep, followed by a long
beep it means that programming failed,
it is necessary to hang-up the telephone
and start again the procedure from point
1, after checking for the correctness of
the codes to be entered.
Programming the room number of the
device (master/slave device)
The room number must be programmed
when, in the same apartment, two or more
DUO devices (videointercoms or intercoms)
are connected, consequently it is manda-
tory to defi ne which is the master (S=0) de-
vice and which are the slaves ones (S=1-9).
The room number it is also mandatory for
having intercommunicating service within
the same apartment (for further information
please refer to the Farfi sa technical manual
n°13), to program the address operate as
follows:
1. With a telephone connected to the PABX,
call the extension to which the FTDUO
is connected, wait for the calling tone
and later for three short beeps;
2. dial the access code 888;
3. dial the programming code 76;
4. dial the number U of the user to be pro-
→
grammed (from 1 to 4);
AAA1=100
5. enter the room number S assigned to
such device ( S is from 0 to 9, where 0
identifi es also the master device, while
→
the numbers from 1 to 9 identify the
slaves ones;
6. wait for three short beeps which confi rm
that the code has been accepted and
then hang-up the telephone or continue
with another programming;
7. if you get a short beep, followed by a long
beep it means that programming failed,
it is necessary to hang-up the telephone
and start again the procedure from point
1, after checking for the correctness of
the codes to be entered.
Programming the telephone number
the user U dials when receiving an
intercom call
Each user must memorize the tele-
phone number it automatically dials,
when receiving an intercom call, to pro-
gram the address operate as follows:
1. With a telephone connected to the PABX,
call the extension to which the FTDUO
is connected, wait for the calling tone
and later for three short beeps;
2. dial the access code 888;
3. dial the programming code 28;
→
AAA (from
(888-76-U-S)
(888-28-U-N)
4. dial the number U of the user to be pro-
grammed (from 1 to 4);
5. enter the telephone number N (an exten-
sion of the PABX or a public telephone
number) which the device automatically
dials when receiving an intercom call,;
if the number is a public number do not
forget to store, for fi rst, the access code
to the public telephone line required by
the PABX (Farfi sa FT208E requires the
code "0");
6. wait at least 5 "and then three short beeps
which confi rm that the code has been ac-
cepted and then hang-up the telephone
or continue with another programming;
7. if you get a short beep, followed by a long
beep it means that programming failed,
it is necessary to hang-up the telephone
and start again the procedure from point
1, after checking for the correctness of
the codes to be entered.
Manual/automatic answer
(888-75-U-1/0)
When there is an incoming intercom call
the interface FTDUO can answer either in
automatic or manual mode. Manual answer
is particularly useful when, within the same
apartment, are installed additional intercoms
or videointercoms because the incoming in-
tercom call will make ringing all the devices
so, if the FTDUO interface is programmed
to answer in automatic mode, it will catch
always as a fi rst the incoming call; to con-
trol this situation it would be also possible
to set the FTDUO interface in automatic
answering, but, in this case, it is necessary
to program properly the parameter "delay
time for answering an incoming intercom
call" (see next programmings).
To program automatic or manual answering
operate as follows:
1. With a telephone connected to the PABX,
call the extension to which the FTDUO is
connected, wait for the calling tone and
later for three short beeps;
2. dial the access code 888;
3. dial the programming code 75;
4. dial the number U of the user to be pro-
grammed (from 1 to 4);
5. dial "1" for manual answering (factory
setting) or "0" for automatic answering;
6. wait for three short beeps which confi rm
that the code has been accepted and
then hang-up the telephone or continue
with another programming;
7. if you get a short beep, followed by a long
beep it means that programming failed,
it is necessary to hang-up the telephone
and start again the procedure from point
1, after checking for the correctness of
the codes to be entered.

ber of rings after which FTDUO interface
