CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

TAKE CARE: Check that you have turned off the equipment from
the wall socket before cleaning it. To avoid electrical shocks, do not
immerse the cable, plug or equipment in water or some other liquid.
After each use always check that the plug is removed from the wall
socket. We recommend that the steps below should be followed
periodically:
• In accordance with the operation "USING FOR THE FIRST TIME"
prepare one or more cups in order to wash the boiler or the coff ee
distributor.
•
Use a dry cloth to wipe the removable water tank.
• Empty the capsule collection tray and drip tray and clean them.
• The detachable cup shelf may be washed in water and dried with
a soft cloth.
• Clean the outer surfaces of the equipment with a damp cloth. Never
immerse the equipment.
REMOVAL OF MINERAL DEPOSITS/DESCALING
In order to keep your alQimia coff ee machine working effi ciently, you
must clean the mineral deposits left by the water regularly. You must
bear in mind the quality of the water (harder or softer) in your area
of use and the frequency of use of the equipment. We recommend
the decalcifi cation of the equipment every three months or after
around 200 Delta Q capsule extractions.
General instructions for decalcifi cation:
•
Fill the tank with water and a descaler up to the MAX. level.
ALWAYS use a "household descaler"; you can use citric acid
instead of a specifi c descaler (in this case, the ratio is one hundred
parts of water to three parts of citric acid).
• Switch the equipment on at the mains and press the general
on/ off button which is located at the rear of the machine. The
indicators in the water tank and the indicator of the espresso coff ee
extraction button come on.
• If the access to the capsule insertion hole opens, the equipment
closes it automatically and starts pre-heating.
• As soon as the indicators of the espresso coff ee, coff ee and tea
extraction buttons come on, this means that the pre-heating has
fi nished.
• Place a recipient with capacity of over 200 ml above the cup
shelf and below the extraction nozzle.

Press the tea extraction button for 3 seconds and let the liquid
pour. Then repeat the same operation on a further two occasions.
•
Wait 20 minutes with the equipment on. Then press any key to
leave standby mode. The application restarts the pre-heating and
once the desired temperature has been attained, the indicators of
the espresso coff ee, coff ee and tea extraction buttons come on.
• Press the tea extraction button for 3 seconds until the machine stops.
•
Rinse the tank well and fi ll it with clean water. Operate the appliance
operate until all of the water has been used up.
