Installing the Mast Bracket

Mounting Considerations
When determining the mounting needs for the bracket, observe
these considerations.
• You should select a mounting location for the bracket on your
mast where the bracket is not damaged by normal operation
of the boat.
• The sun cover fastens to the mast bracket using snaps on
the top and bottom of the bracket. If you plan to use the sun
cover, you must select a mounting location where both the
top and bottom of the mast bracket are accessible.
• The hardware needed to assemble the mounting bracket is
included with the bracket. The hardware needed to connect
your marine instruments to the mounting bracket is included
with the marine instruments.
• The hardware needed to secure the bracket to the mast is
not included, because this can vary based on your installation
needs. You must determine how to mount the bracket to your
mast and purchase the mounting hardware.
• The NMEA 2000
T-connectors and right-angle drop cables
®
needed to connect the marine instruments to your NMEA
2000 network are included with the marine instruments. A
NMEA 2000 backbone cable is included with the bracket to
extend your NMEA 2000 network to the assembled
instruments in the bracket. If the included backbone cable is
not long enough, you must purchase a longer backbone
cable.
Assembling the Mast Bracket
1
Adhere the gaskets included with the devices to the back of
each device.
The gasket has adhesive on one side, and should be
adhered to the back of the device, not to the mast bracket.
2
With the devices oriented in the same direction, secure the
device straps
to the devices using the threaded rods and

provided with the devices, and place the

bracket using the included screws
4
Assemble the NMEA 2000 T-connectors.
5
Secure the T-connectors to the included mounting plate
using the included screws and nuts
6
Connect the right angle drop-cables to the tops of the T-
connectors and to the devices.
7
Remove the thumb screws along one side of the devices
place the plate over the threaded rods, and secure the plate
with the thumb screws.
8
On the front panel of the mast bracket, place the rear panels
so the snap connectors align with the top and bottom of the
bracket.
Two of the rear panels have snap connectors that secure the
sun cover to the assembled bracket. If the snap connectors
on these panels are not at the top and bottom of the
assembled bracket
, you cannot attach the sun cover to the
bracket.
