c) Calorie Counter
Select calorie mode with the MODE button and press RESET (display reads 00000). Activate the calorie counter with
ST/STP (▲ is displayed under START). Clip the device to your belt. The device will keep track of the number of
calories you've burnt.
d) Countdown Timer (- timer)
Select countdown timer mode with the MODE button and press RESET (display reads 0:00). Press SET and the digits
will start to flash. Set the hours with ▲/H and the minutes with ▼/M. The minimum countdown is one minute (0:01)
and the maximum countdown is 23 hours 59 minutes (23:59).
Press ST/STP to start the countdown. When the countdown is complete the device will produce an intermittent beep for
± 15 seconds. Press any button to interrupt the alarm.
e) Count-Up Timer (+ timer)
Select count-up mode with the MODE button and press RESET (display reads 00.00). Press ST/STP to start the count-
up timer and press it again to stop the count. This function allows you to determine how long you have actually
exercised.
f) Data Accumulating Function
This device can accumulate the result of a whole series of exercise sessions. When using the step counter, distance
counter, calorie counter, countdown timer or count-up functions you can simply press ST/STP at the end of your
session without pressing RESET afterwards.
These data are stored in the memory until the start of your next session, when the count will pick up where you left off.
g) Pulse Meter
Select the pulse rate detection mode with the MODE button (display reads 00.00). Hold the device in your hand and
gently place the tip of your forefinger on the sensor (# 10 in fig. 1). Press the PULSE button to activate the pulse
function. Use a finger without calluses and do not press too hard. The device displays the ♥ symbol and then "- - -"
when it starts detecting. Next it beeps once and displays "0" when your pulse rate is first detected. The ♥ symbol
flashes and the device beeps whenever a value is displayed on the LCD. When your average pulse rate is determined,
the device emits a long beep and your average pulse rate is frozen on the display for ± 8 seconds.
If the device is unable to pick up your average pulse rate within 1 minute, the LCD will display ERROR and then return
to 00.00 again. The device will also return to the starting position of the pulse rate detection mode (00.00) if MODE is
pressed at any time during use of this mode.
7. Warning
Do not drop the device on hard surfaces and do not submerge it in water.
8. Battery Replacement
Replace the battery when the digits on the display become illegible. Unscrew the cover of the battery compartment and
replace the battery, making sure the + side is facing upwards. Use a CR2032 battery or an equivalent type. Fasten the
cover of the battery compartment. Note you'll have to reprogram your stride length and weight following battery
replacement.
