Adjustments after replacement of main chassis
Disconnect the ESD mat from the main chassis
Connect the mains voltage
Turn on the TV
Set settings for VTR (BeoVision 1)
Adjust G2
Adjust FOCUS (BeoVision 1)
Adjust FOCUS (BeoCenter 1)
Adjust geometry
- Remove the alligator clip from the aerial input on the main chassis.
- Turn on the TV, with GO. If the screen is black, adjust the 04R485 (SCREEN) to
obtain a picture on the screen. The 04R485 (SCREEN and FOCUS) is located at the
top of PCB4, just to the right of PCB3 seen from behind (see
- A VTR must be used for adjustment to take place.
- If the customer has a videotaperecorder (VTR), then this can be used. If not, another
VTR has to be used. If the customer does not have a VTR: Select OPTIONS in SETUP.
Select CONNECTIONS. Set V.TAPE to V.TAPE. Remember to set V.TAPE to NONE,
when adjustment of the TV is fi nished, (not if the customer's VTR has been used).
- Enter SETUP, select SERVICEMODE with STOP, STOP, GO. Push the button
combination within 3 seconds. Select the MONITOR SERVICE MENU then PICTURE
ADJUSTMENTS. Select G2 ADJUSTMENT with GO. Then adjust G2 by means of
04R485 (SCREEN) (see
messages, if any. Press GO to exit servicemode.
- Connect the VTR to the BeoVision 1 in the V.TAPE plug using a scart cable. Choose
V.TAPE in display and press GO. Insert the test tape from the back-up suitcase, and
press GO. Now a test picture should be on the screen. If a non B&O or an old B&O
VTR is used, insert the test tape and press play on the VTR or the VTR remote
control. Adjust to optimum focus of the vertical lines as viewed approx. 10 cm/4"
from the edge of the screen, by means of 04R485 (FOCUS) (see

- Use the Test-tape as in FOCUS adjustment to check the geometry (BeoVision 1).
- Use the Test-DVD as in FOCUS adjustment to check the geometry (BeoCenter1).
- Remember to check the geometry in format 2 (16:9) as well. Enter SETUP and
select PICTURE FORMAT. Select FORMAT 16:9 with GO. The geometry of
BeoVision 1 rarely requires adjustment after replacement of main chassis but if so,
the parameters in the following sections can be adjusted.
These parameters are fi xed and should not be adjusted:
- Vertical Slope (V-SL)
- Vertical S-Correction (V-SC)
- Horizontal sensitivity (EHT)
