1 Inleiding
Deze handleiding geldt voor het de doorkoppelkit voor het aansluiten
van twee vaste brandstoftanks.
De tank mag van kunststof, polyester of metaal zijn gemaakt en moet
een minimale wanddikte hebben van 1,5 mm.
Raadpleeg de bijbehorende handleiding voor het aansluiten van de
dieselbrandstoftank.
2 Installatie
2.1 Aanbrengen van montagegat aansluitdeksel en
de gaten voor de koppeling
Plaats het aansluitdeksel in de bovenzijde van de tank. Indien een VE-
TUS tank wordt gebruikt plaats dan het aansluitdeksel bij voorkeur zo
dat de plug P wordt verwijdert bij het aanbrengen van het gat.
Breng het gat in de tank aan en werk het braambrij af.
Gebruik een gatenzaag (ø 114 mm) om een nauwkeurig rond
gat te maken. Dit is noodzakelijk om een goede afdichting te
verkrijgen. Een gatenzaag ø 114 mm is leverbaar, Vetus art.
code VSAW114.
Breng in beide tanks op een hoogte, minimaal, zoals in de tekening is
aangegeven een gat aan (ø 27 mm) voor de koppeling.
Reinig de binnenzijde van de tanks alvorens het aansluitdeksel te
monteren.
2.2 Toe te passen afdichtrubber
Bepaal de wanddikte van de tank en pas het aangegeven afdichtrub-
ber toe.
2.3 Montage koppeling
Monteer een huiddoorvoer (1) met de pakking (2) in beide tanks.
Monteer de koppelingshelften (3) op de huiddoorvoeren en pas op
de schroefdraad een brandstofbestendig afdichtmiddel toe, bijvoor-
beeld: Loctite® 577.
Plaats de tanks tegen elkaar en verbind ze met de wartelmoer.
2.4 Montage aansluitdeksel
• Aansluitdeksel (5)
Plaats het aansluitdeksel (5) in het gat van de tank.
Draai de 3 schroeven (6) ieder één (-1-) omwenteling vast (rechtsom)
en test of het deksel nog eenvoudig met de hand te verdraaien is.
Herhaal dit tot het deksel niet meer te verdraaien is. Draai hierna ie-
dere schroef nog drie (-3-) omwentelingen vast.
• Ontluchting (7).
Monteer beide slangpilaren met de afdichtringen (8).
• Massa-aansluiting (4).
Monteer de contacttong.
2.5 Ontluchtingsleiding
Sluit de ontluchtingsleiding aan zoals in de tekening op pag. 6 is aan-
gegeven.
Controleer de dichtheid van alle verbindingen alvorens de tank
te vullen.

1 Introduction
This manual is applicable to the installation of the interconnection kit for
rigid fuel tanks.
The tank may be made from plastic, GRP or metal and should have a mini-
mum wall thickness of 1.5 mm.
Consult the manual supplied with the diesel fuel tank for instructions
on how to connect it.
2 Installation
2.1 Cutting the hole for the connector lid and the
holes for the coupler
Position the connector lid on the top face of the tank. If a VETUS tank
is used, then it should be fitted with plug P on the top and the con-
nector lid should preferably be located so that plug P is removed
when the hole is cut.
Cut the hole in the tank and remove all burrs.
Drill an exactly round hole using a hole saw (ø 114mm, 4 1/2"
diam.). This is essential in order to achieve proper sealing. A
ø 114 mm hole saw is available from Vetus under art. code
VSAW114.
Drill a hole at the minimum height shown in the drawing in both
tanks (27 mm, 1 1/16" diam.) for the coupler.
Clean the inside of the tanks before fitting the connector lid.
2.2 Rubber seal to be applied
Determine the thickness of the wall of the tank and use the indicated
rubber seal.
2.3 Installation coupler
Install a skin fitting (1) with gasket (2) in both tanks.
Fit the coupler halves (3) to the skin fittings and apply a fuel resistant
sealant, e.g. Loctite® 577 to the threads.
Position the tanks next to each other and connect them with the cou-
pling nut.
2.4 Installation of connector lid
• Connector lid (5)
Position the connector lid (5) into the hole of the tank.
Tighten each of the 3 screws (6) one (-1-) revolution (clockwise) and
check if the lid can be rotated easily by hand.
Repeat this until the lid can't be rotated anymore. Then tighten each
of the screws another three (-3-) revolutions.

Fit the hose pillar with the sealing washer
• Earth connection (4)
Fit the terminal tag.
2.5 Ventilation line
Connect the tank vent line as indicated in the drawing on page 6.
Check the tightness of all connections before filling the tank.
