Danger!
When using the equipment, a few safety pre-
cautions must be observed to avoid injuries and
damage. Please read the complete operating
instructions and safety regulations with due care.
Keep this manual in a safe place, so that the in-
formation is available at all times. If you give the
equipment to any other person, hand over these
operating instructions and safety regulations as
well. We cannot accept any liability for damage
or accidents which arise due to a failure to follow
these instructions and the safety instructions.

1. Safety regulations

Danger!
Read all safety regulations and instructions.
Any errors made in following the safety regula-
tions and instructions may result in an electric
shock, fi re and/or serious injury.
Keep all safety regulations and instructions
in a safe place for future use.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sen-
sory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience
and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Using a bright light source (for example a
lighter) make sure that the automatic welding
screen is in perfect working order before you
start the welding work.
The permissible ambient temperature range
for operation is -5°C to +55°C. In other tem-
peratures the function of the device may be
limited.
The ambient temperature range for storage is
-20°C to +70°C.
We recommend that this welding helmet be
used for 5 years. The service life depends on
a range of factors such as, e.g. use, cleaning,
storage and maintenance.
Welding screen materials which come into
contact with the wearer's skin may cause all-
ergic reactions on sensitive persons.
Each time before you use the welding screen,
examine it for damage and also check that
the optical unit is in proper working order. If
the screen is damaged or the optical unit is

not working, the welding screen must not be
used any more and must be replaced.
The safety screen (2) may be damaged by
weld spatter. Damaged or scratched safety
screens (2) must be replaced immediately.
Damaged or heavily soiled or spattered com-
ponents must be replaced without delay.
The automatic welding screen is not desig-
ned to provide protection from mechanical
damage (for example splinters caused by
grinding or cutting with angle grinders, etc.).
The welding screen is not suitable for protec-
tion against impacts. In the event of exposure
to mechanical action, the impact energy can
be transferred to parts of the eyes and face
behind it.
The automatic welding screen is not desig-
ned for laser welding.
Protect the automatic welding screen from
high temperatures.
Keep the optical unit (13) free of dust and
other dirt at all times. Sensors, the solar cell
(3) and viewing window (1) on the optical
unit (13) must be cleaned at regular intervals
using conventional window cleaning materi-
als.
Do not make any changes to the automatic
welding screen apart from those that are de-
scribed in these instructions.
The equipment may only be used by person-
nel who are over 16 years of age.
Only use accessories and spare parts that
are specified in these operating instructions
or are recommended by the manufacturer.
Make yourself familiar with the safety regu-
lations for welding. Also refer to the safety
regulations for your welding set.
Ensure that the rooms in which you wish to
carry out welding work are well ventilated or
use an extraction system so that the resulting
smoke and toxic gases can be removed from
the area.
Always wear the automatic welding screen
when welding. If you do not use it you may
suffer serious retinal injuries.
Always wear protective clothing when carry-
ing out welding work.
It is imperative to observe the accident pre-
vention regulations in force in your area as
well as all other generally recognized rules of
safety. Note the information published by your
professional associations (VBG 7j).
Never weld near inflammable liquids, gases
or other highly inflammable materials.
Never use the automatic welding screen wit-
