Stop the Unit
1. Completely push the clutch/brake pedal forward to
stop the unit (see Figure 15). Keep your foot on
the pedal.

DISENGAGE position (see Figure 11).
3. Release the speed control pedal to the NEUTRAL
position (see Figure 16).
4. Set the parking brake (see Figure 17).

Make sure the parking brake will hold the unit.
5. Move the throttle control to the SLOW position
(see Figure 10).
6. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position to stop the
engine (see Figure 9).
Transport the Unit
To transport the unit, follow the steps below.
1. Push the blade rotation control down to the
DISENGAGE position (see Figure 11).
2. Raise the lift lever to the highest position
(see Figure 18).
3. Move the throttle control to a position between
SLOW and FAST (see Figure 10).
4. To go faster, move the speed control pedal to a
faster speed (see Figure 16).
Operate the Mower Deck
WARNING
The mulcher cover is a safety device. Do not
remove the mulcher cover.
IMPORTANT: When you operate with the mower deck,
always operate with the throttle control in the
FAST position.
1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position to start
the engine (see Figure 9).
2. Move the lift lever to a height of cut position (see
Figure 18). In high or thick grass, cut the grass in
the highest position first and then lower the mower
deck to a lower position.
3. Move the throttle control to the SLOW position
(see Figure 10).
4. Slowly move the blade rotation control to the
ENGAGE position (see Figure 11).
5. Move the speed control pedal to the desired speed
settings (see Figure 16).
NOTE: When you mow in heavy grass or mow with
a bagger, operate the speed control pedals in the
lowest speed.
6. Move the throttle control to the FAST position (see
Figure 10). If you need to go faster or slower, stop
the unit and move the speed control pedal to
another speed setting.
7. Make sure the level of cut is still correct. After you
mow a short distance, look at the area that was cut.
If the mower deck does not cut level, see an
authorized dealer.
WARNING
For better control of the unit, select a
safe speed.
