SWING-AWAY FOOTRESTS
How to Attach
1.
Position a footrest so it is pointing 90 degrees away
from the transport chair (footrest platform
be pointing forward when folded down at this point).
2.
Align the holes with the footrest pegs
and gently press down until the footrest can swing
freely.
3.
Swing the footrest until the footrest platform
pointing inward. Continue with this rotation until the
footrest locks in place

4.
Repeat steps 1 – 3 with the other footrest.
How to Detach
1.
Release the footrest lock
the side.
2.
Gently pull up on the footrest and remove it from the
footrest pegs
3.
Repeat steps 1 – 2 with the other footrest.
How to Adjust the Length
1.
Have the user sit in the transport chair with their feet
on the footrest platform.
2.
Unlock the height adjustment safety lock
the height adjustment push buttons
lower footrests to desired position that will provide
maximum support of the user's thighs.
If there is an uncomfortable pressure being applied to the
back of the user's thighs, then the footrests are too low.
Footrests should not be lower than 2½" from the ground
to ensure proper clearance.
STABILITY
Transport chairs are designed to be safe and stable as long
as the center of gravity is maintained. Care must be taken
while performing activities that shift your center of gravity
while in the chair.
BRAKING
1. Applying the Brake
NOTE:
The hand brake may be used if needed, but is
primarily designed to maintain a stopped stance.
The braking wheels must be in contact with the floor,
and the brakes work best with weight on the wheelchair.
If the brake fails to engage, the cable is probably too loose
or too tight. Please see brake adjustment section.
• To use the brake, simply squeeze the lever with your
finger tips toward the handle bar.
• To release the brake, simply release pressure on the
brake lever.
