Installing the wireless rain gauge
Remove all packaging material, films and tapes
before installation. This material is intended only
for protection during transport.
To ensure a secure stand for the rain gauge, we recommend
that you mount it on a suitable surface. The package contains
2 dowels and 2 screws. There are two threaded holes for fixing
screws on the underside of the rain gauge.
− Place the rain gauge on a horizontal, stable and level
surface at a height of 1 metre.
− The location should be adequately sheltered from
the wind.
− If necessary, use the spirit level of the rain gauge
for optimal alignment.
Requirements and tips for a good location
The rain gauge must be stable and firmly secured
(especially during storms, heavy rain, etc.).
The rain gauge must be reasonably free-standing
and sheltered from the wind, and there should be no
tall trees or buildings around it. There should be no
branches protruding over the rain gauge.
Consider the prevailing wind direction in your garden.
Example: If there is a tall tree west of the rain gauge,
this tree will obstruct an accurate precipitation
measurement at westerly wind: a) the tree obstructs
the precipitation; b) air turbulence occurs in the
lee of the tree, which distorts the measurement of
precipitation.
