Problem
Burner will not light with match
Irregular flame pattern, flame does not run the full length
of burner.
Flame is yellow or orange
Flame blow out
Flare-up
Persistent grease fire.
Flashback (fire in burner tube(s))
Inside of lid is peeling-like paint peeling

Possible Cause
No gas flow .
Obstruction of gas flow .
Spider webs or insect nest in venturi .
Burner ports clogged or blocked .
Burner ports are clogged or blocked .
New burner may have residual manufacturing oils .
Spider webs or insect nest in venturi .
Food residue, grease or seasoning salt on burner .
High or gusting winds .
Low on LP Gas .
Grease buildup .
Excess fat in meat .
Excessive cooking temperature .
Grease trapped by food buildup around burner system .
Burner and/or burner tube is blocked .
The lid is porcelain coated, not paint .
Prevention/Cure
Check if LP cylinder is empty .
Clear burner tubes .
Clean venturi .
Clean burner ports .
Clean burner ports .
Burn grill for 15 minutes with the lid closed .
Clean venturi .
Clean burner .
Turn front of grill to face wind or increase flame height .
Replace LP cylinder .
Clean grill .
Trim fat from meat before grilling .
Adjust (lower) temperature accordingly .
Turn knobs to "LOCK OFF POSITION ." Let fire burn out . Leave
lid in closed position and let fire burn out . After grill cools,
remove and clean all parts .
Clean burner and/or burner tube .
Baked on grease buildup has turned to carbon and is flaking
off . Clean thoroughly .
