Please read thoroughly before installing.
CAUTION – To reduce the RISK OF FIRE when using an open bottom reflector or refractor,
DO NOT INSTALL A LAMP MARKED FOR USE IN ENCLOSED LUMINAIRES ONLY (E-code).
Follow all lamp manufacturer's recommended instructions.
WARNINGS:
Install, operate and maintain to meet all applicable codes.
Handle and secure so reflector cannot fall.
Lamp wattage and type installed must match that specified on the fixture label.
REFLECTOR MOUNTING
1.
Check the light distribution adjustment chart to find a proper setting for the movable bracket based
upon the type and wattage of the light source and type of distribution required for the installation.
2.
Adjust both movable brackets (1) up or down until the correct letter (adjustment) appears in the upper
right hole over the letter column on the fixed bracket (2). Use accompanying instruction sheet as a
guide for the adjustment and proper connection. Secure in this position by tightening the retaining
screws (3).
3.
Back off both screws (10) located in the lower side of the fixture housing about five turns each.
4.
Turn each reflector bracket assembly outward (flanges pointing away from each other) and insert the
flanges (4) into the slots (5) in the metal support disk (6) that is attached inside the plastic reflector (7).
5.
For added security to prevent accidental disengagement, thread screws (8) outward through the lower
hole in the movable bracket (1). Fully engage screw to trap the bracket in position and prevent it from
slipping out of the slot.
6.
Make sure each of the four crimped over fingers (9) on the metal disk are bent over the top of the
reflector. Squeeze them over, if necessary, to tighten the insert against the reflector.
7.
Bring the reflector assembly up to the bottom of the ballast housing and align both bracket pairs,
attached to the reflector, over the backed off screws (10) that are in place on the lower side of the
fixture housing.
8.
Engage the keyhole slots in the reflector brackets and tighten both screws (10) to attach reflector
assembly.
9.
Install HID lamp. Make sure it is the same wattage and type specified on the fixture label.
10. Straighten both bracket pairs to align the optical assembly and assure that the HID lamp is centered in
the reflector.
11. Make sure all screws are tightened for proper engagement and security.
QUARTZ STANDBY SOCKET BRACKET MOUNTING
1.
Align tethered quartz standby bracket (11), with the socket (12) facing outward toward the reflector (7)
and away from the HID lamp, underneath the large cutout mousehole slot (13) in the metal support
disk (6) of the reflector assembly.
2.
Position the quartz socket wires (14) in the large slot (15) of the bracket (11) flange and through the
mousehole slot in the metal disk.
3.
Install extra screw (16) down through the hole adjacent to the mousehole and into the aligned hole in
the bracket. Tighten screw to secure attachment.
4.
Alternately, install the extra screw (16) upward through the side slot in the bracket and into the other
aligned hole in the metal disk. Tighten screw carefully to avoid stripping the threads formed in the
metal disk. Add a nut (17) on the exposed screw threads to secure attachment.
5.
Remove slack in the socket wires (14) by pushing excess length back into the fixture housing through
the HID socket.
6.
Install a 120V, 150W double contact bayonet base quartz incandescent lamp in auxiliary socket. Use
Q150CL/DC or ANSI #ETC-120V for the typical lamp. Wipe off lamp after installing to remove harmful
oils that will eventually degrade lamp life and performance.
7.
CAUTION: Higher wattage auxiliary lamps may cause failure in that part of the plastic reflector that is in
close proximity to the tilted outward auxiliary lamp.
PHOTOMETRIC DISTRIBUTION AND BRACKET POSITIONING CHART
The letters in
1.
the chart indicate adjustable bracket setting positions for the photometric distribution
ranges given.
2.
Letter on fixed upper bracket should appear in the indicator circle on the lower movable bracket.
