3.2 Assigning the AS-Interface addresses
Caution
– Slave 1 must never have the address #31. Otherwise
under certain circumstances no further modification
of the addresses is possible.
– For faultless operation the addresses must be as-
signed consecutively (e.g. slave 1: #5; slave 2: #4 or
slave 1: #4; slave 2: #5).
Recommendation: Select the addresses so that a
complete byte is assigned to the valve terminal in the
PLC address range.
When using addressing device ASI-PRG-ADR (or similar
device): The addressing device scans the existing slaves in
the AS-Interface network. However, with valve terminal
type CPV..-GE-ASI-8E8A-Z only the slave of the two
coupled slaves with the lower address is displayed.
Address selector button
The address selector button enables access to slave 2 with
the usual addressing devices, providing this has a higher
address than slave 1. You can unlock the pushbutton by
pressing it. Slave 1 will then be disconnected from the
AS-Interface bus. If the AS-Interface bus voltage is ap-
plied, the address selector LED will light up to indicate that
slave 1 has been disconnected from the AS-Interface.
