7. TEST
The dimmer can permanently operate at max. with a simple setting:
- bipolarly disconnect the 230V power supply;
- switch DIP switch 4 to OFF (manual selection);
- switch DIP switch 2 to OFF (analog control);
- switch DIP switch 3 to OFF (1-10V);
- disconnect both 10V control wires;
- connect the 230V power supply;
The dimmer now switches to max. without requiring a control signal
Warning: the dimmers are never electrically separated from the mains
by operating the control. All components, incl. the lamps, therefore remain
live even when the light is "off".
Signals that are sent via the mains, can interfere with the operation of the
dimmer. This interference only occurs if this signal is sent via the mains.
8. COOLING
Cooling is essential for reliable and safe operation.
The dimmer produces approx. 1.2% heat vs the connected load.
E.g.: 500W lighting = 6W dissipation
Provide sufficient cool air circulation with regard to the total dissipated
power. If the natural air circulation is limited, a fan must be provided in
the cabinet or in the room.

9. INTERFERENCE SUPPRESSION

Interference over the power supply cables: the degree of interference sup-
pression complies to the European (EN55015) and international (CISPR15)
standards.

Important: the max. load mainly depends on the ambient temperature
(fig. 3).
Special remarks with regard to inductive loads:
- ferromagnetic (wound) transformers have to be loaded for min. 75%;
- the consumption of ferromagnetic transformers must be increased by
the cosine phi;
- in case toroidal core transformers are used, the max. load is limited to
450W.
11. MAINTENANCE
These appliances are suitable for use in the following conditions:
- an ambient temperature of 35°C;
- a environment with a non-condensing atmospheric humidity;
- a mains voltage of 230V.
A regular check of at least the following is recommended after the power
supply has been switched off completely:
- pressure of the screw terminals;
- ventilation.

12.GUARANTEE PROVISIONS

- Period of guarantee: 2 years from date of delivery. The delivery date is
the invoice date of purchase of the product by the consumer. If there is
no invoice, the date of production applies.
- The consumer is obliged to inform Niko in writing about the defect,
within two months after stating the defect.
- In case of a failure to conform, the consumer has the right to a repair
or replacement (decided by Niko) free of charge.
- Niko cannot be held liable for a defect or damage as a result of an incorrect
installation, improper or careless use or wrong usage or transformation
of the goods.
- The compulsory regulations of the national legislation concerning the
sales of consumer goods and the protection of the consumers in the
countries where Niko sells, directly or via sister or daughter companies,
chain stores, distributors, agents or permanent sales representatives,
take priority over the rules and regulations mentioned above.
