Depending on the type of ingredients in the airfryer, steam may escape
from the pan.
Lift the basket from the pan and empty its contents into a bowl or
19
onto a plate.
Note: Always make sure that you remove the basket from the pan before you
empty the basket, as there may be hot oil and rendered fat on the bottom of

fried them.
You did not use the
right potato type.
Solution
Put smaller batches of ingredients
in the basket. Smaller batches
are fried more evenly. Do not
exceed MAX indication.
Set the temperature to the
required temperature setting.
Set the timer to the required
cooking time.
Increase the cooking time by a
few minutes if you fry with the
splatter-proof lid attached.
Ingredients that lie on top of
or across each other (e.g. fries)
need to be shaken halfway
through the cooking time.
Use food intended to be cooked
in an oven or lightly brush some
oil onto the food for a crispier
result.
Do not fill the basket beyond the
MAX indication.
Make sure the pan and basket
are placed correctly. Push the
basket down into the pan until
you hear it click.
The splatter-proof lid has to
engage when mounted on the
variety cooking basket.
When you fry fatty ingredients,
a large amount of oil or
rendered fat leaks into pan. The
oil or fat may cause white smoke
and the pan may heat up more
than usual. This does not affect
the appliance or the end result.
Midway through the cooking
process you can carefully pour
off any excess oil or rendered fat
from the pan and then continue
cooking. You can also place the
splatter-proof lid on the basket
and continue cooking.
White smoke is caused by greasy
residue heating up in the pan.
Make sure you clean the pan
properly after each use.
Place the splatter-proof lid on
the basket.
White smoke can be caused by
tiny pieces of airborne breading.
Press breading or coating to food
to ensure it sticks.
Soak the potato sticks in a bowl
for at least 30 minutes, take them
out and dry them with paper
towel.
Use fresh potatoes and be sure
they stay firm during frying.
