Installation instruction
The magnetic contact is designed to monitor the opening of windows, doors and containers. It is
mounted on window or door frames. Magnetic contacts are mounted and used in accordance with EN
50131-2-6 Grade 2.
Magnet and contact are always arranged parallel to each other with the magnetic contact being
mounted on the fixed part (e.g. frame) and the magnet on the mobile part of the object to be protected.
The distance between the magnet and the contact shall be within the working range (OD). For
mounting observe the allowable fitting tolerances.
Do not use a cordless screw driver for mounting the lower parts because the plastic parts may get
damaged. Pre-drilling at the mounting hole positions may become necessary.
To check the correct mounting, perform a continuity test. Screw-type terminals are used for the
electrical connection. Strain relief of the cable is to be rendered by a cable tie at the opening of the
lower part of contact housing provided for this purpose.
After mounting place the covering caps onto the lower parts and lock them.
To fasten the lower parts of the housings, use no other than non-magnetic screws,
shape HC 2,9 x 16 D 798 -A2. 1
If the magnetic switch is mounted on ferromagnetic materials, use the spacers supplied.
In such case observe the residual interference of the operating distances.
