The tightness between the filter head and the bowl is ensured by a sealing O-ring; hand-tightening is
sufficient. The supplied spanner only helps for dismounting.
The cylindrical support of the filter sleeve is fitted at the 2 ends with a centrifugal spinner and a
sealing cover. The purpose of the latter is to provide the sealing between the unfiltered water and the
filtered water. The vane transforms the liquid flow into a centrifugal spin by throwing the large
particles down into the lower bowl.
Fitting isolating valves upstream and downstream of the filter is recommended for assisting
maintenance of the filter.
For the TE-CTN / DUO-CTN / TRIO-CTN models, the filter is equipped with a reffilable container
(CTN) for activated carbon or any other product for water treatment.
This container is the same for all models (NW25 TE-CTN, NW25 DUO-CTN, TRIO-UV, SL 240 TE-
CTN, SL 240 DUO-CTN and SL 240 TRIO-CTN). Its volume is 0.57 litre. The lower inlets of the
container are 0.6 mm; in the upper outlet, it is 0.3 mm.
The SL 160 TE-CTN do not exist.
4. Maintenance
Before dismounting the bowl, close the upstream and downstream valves and release the pressure.
Maintenance and replacement of the filter sleeve used for drinking water is recommended at least two times
a year. The filters graded 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 & 100µ are intended for a single use. Cleaning them would change
the structure of the fibre, so degrading the fineness of the selected filtering and making the filter more fragile,
which could lead to tearing.
The nylon filters graded 150 & 300 µ are designed to be cleaned and re-used.
Replacement of the activated carbon in the models TE-CTN – DUO-CTN – TRIO-CTN for drinking water is
3
necessary every 12 m
, and in other cases at least every 6 months.
To renew the activated carbon inside the CTN container, remove the container from the filter head by pulling
it down (do not screw nor unscrew the container). Unscrew the black cap from the container, throw away the
old carbon and clean up the container. Fill in the container with new CINTROPUR activated carbon (or any
other product) to the indicated level "max". With the content of the CINTROPUR box, you can fill in up to 6
containers. Screw the cap on the container. Place the full container in the head of the filter (do not screw or
unscrew the container). Screw the bowl into the head with your hands. The spanner only helps for
dismounting.
The thread of the bowl must stay clean and greased for easy fitting and removal of the bowl during its life
time. The sealing O'ring between the head and the bowl must also remain clean and greased for good
sealing. To this end, CINTROPUR sells mini pots of grease (20 gr). Plan to replace this O-ring between the
head and the bowl every 5 years. All slots and O-ring surroundings must remain clean and without burrs.
Every component of the filter, even if only slightly damaged, must be replaced immediately to ensure good
performance under pressure and water-tightness of the whole filter.
5. Warranty
The choice of high-quality raw materials for manufacturing each component of your filter is the best
guarantee to offer you full satisfaction for many years of use.
If, nevertheless, a component reveals a fault related to a manufacturing defect, this would be covered by a
replacement of that component under guarantee.
