IMPORTANT NOTES:
*Before digging, check for underground utilities. The North American One Call Referral Service at 1.888.258.0808
connects you to a national directory of utility companies.
**The United States Postal Service requires mailboxes to be installed with the bottom of the box at a vertical height of
between 41 to 45 inches from the road surface and 6 to 8 inches from the front face of the curb to the mailbox door.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE:
To clean this product, use a mild soap in water solution and rub gently with sponge. Rinse thoroughly with water.
Power washing and abrasive materials are not recommended and can cause damage. Mailbox post is made from
GFRC.
Read each step thoroughly prior to installing the Cast Stone Mailbox Post:
1: Dig a hole 8" ‐ 12" in diameter approximately 24"‐ 36" deep.* Review USPS mailbox
requirement from the curb.**
2: Determine the height of the 4" x 4" or 4" x 6" wooden post by adding the depth of the hole plus
40" from ground level. Mark wooden post accordingly and cut off excess material with a saw.
3: Place wooden post in center of hole or concrete forming tube and fill evenly with
pre‐mixed concrete to the top of the hole. Use a level to make sure the wooden post is straight
and secure until concrete cures. If using a 4" x 6" post make sure the narrow side is facing the
street.
4: Slide the Cast Stone Mailbox Post (A) over the wooden post with the narrower side facing the
street. Position cast stone post flush to the ground and flush to the middle of the wooden post
facing the street.
5: Position Mounting Bracket (D) to Mailbox Post (A) so it is centered and even with the
top of the post. Drill through the 2 pre‐drilled holes on the mounting bracket and
through the cast stone post, and into the wooden post with a masonry bit. Secure
Mounting Bracket (D) to Mailbox Post (A) with 2 Mounting Screws (E) into wooden
post. Drilling small pilot holes into wooden post will make inserting the screws easier.
6: Attach Decorative Scroll (C) to Mailbox Platform (B) using Scroll Screw (F).
7: Position the mailbox platform and decorative scroll assembled in Step 6 on top of the
cast stone mailbox post. Insert Mounting Screws (E) into 4 pre‐drilled holes in
Mailbox Platform (B) until screw tips are visible through other side. Align the 4 screws
with the wooden post and center decorative scroll with mounting bracket, then
secure screws.
8: Mailbox Installation: To install mailbox onto mailbox platform, follow the mailbox
manufacturer's installation instructions.
Side Mount: Center mailbox and drill pilot holes in Mailbox Platform (B) before
attaching. Attach standard mailbox (not included) with Mailbox Mounting Screws (G).
Oversized mailbox may require longer screws (not included).
Inside Mount: Center mailbox, mark hole location, and drill pilot holes in top of
Mailbox Platform (B). Attach with mailbox manufacturer's screws.
