5. ATTACHING DISCHARGE ELBOW
MODELS BEGINNING WITH "WDJ"
A. Connect the waste elbow to the disposer by sliding the flange
against the rubber gasket on the elbow and tightening the screws
into the disposer (see 5A). Then connect bottom of the elbow by
tightening the slip nut (see 5B).

from the elbow and install it on the straight pipe with the flat end
of the gasket facing toward the disposer discharge opening.
B. If you are connecting to a dishwasher, return to section 2B. If not,
make sure all plumbing connections are tight and in accordance
with all plumbing codes and ordinances. Run water and check for
leaks.
MODELS BEGINNING WITH "FWDJ"
C. Depress the wings on the spring clamp to remove it from the
rubber sleeve. Slip the spring clamp over the smooth side of the
elbow and slide it towards the lipped side of the elbow. (see 5C).
Insert the waste elbow into the rubber sleeve so the elbow lip fits
into the groove located inside the rubber sleeve. Position the
spring clamp over the rubber sleeve and secure (see 5D). If
using a straight pipe, use one with a lip matching the lip on the
elbow supplied with the disposer.
D. If you are connecting to a dishwasher, return to section 2B. If not,
make sure all plumbing connections are tight and in accordance
with all plumbing codes and ordinances. Run water and check for
leaks.
6. MOUNTING SILVER GUARD® TO SINK FLANGE (if equipped)
After the disposer is fully mounted to the sink;
with the flat portion of the black strap facing the
metal sink flange, guide the Silver Guard®
through the mount screws, (6A). Place the Silver
Guard® between the Support Flange and Upper
Mount Ring. Please note (6B) that the Silver
Guard® must be placed under the flange of the
Support Ring. Once the Silver Guard® is fitted,
firmly press on the snaps to secure the strap
(6C).
7. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Your disposer is Continuous Feed if
you did not specifically purchase a
Batch Feed Disposer.
If using a straight pipe, it must
