Drilling Operation
Turn the torque preselection ring (3) to the position of
symbol ' ' and push the rotational direction switch (7)
left to the end to make the rotation clockwise.
Drilling in Wood
Set up gear speed at Gear 1. When drilling in wood,
the best results are obtained with wood drills equipped
with a guide screw. The guide screw makes drilling
easier by pulling the bit into the work piece.
Drilling in Metal
Set up gear speed at Gear 2, To prevent the bit from
slipping when starting a hole, make an indentation with
a center punch and hammer at the point to be drilled.
Place the point of the bit in the indentation and start
drilling. Use a cutting lubricant when drilling metals.
The exceptions are iron and brass, which should be
drilled dry.
CAUTION!
a) Pressing excessively on the tool will not speed
up the drilling. In fact, this excessive pressure will
only serve to damage the tip of your bit, decrease
the tool performance and shorten the service life
of the tool.
b) There is a tremendous force exerted on the tool/
bit at the time of hole break through. Hold the tool
firmly and exert care when the bit begins to break
through the work piece.
c) A stuck bit can be removed simply by setting the
reversing switch to reverse rotation in order to
back out. However, the tool may back out abruptly
if you do not hold it firmly.
d) Always secure a small work piece in a vise or
similar hold down device.
e) If the tool is operated continuously until the battery
pack has discharged, allow the tool to rest for 15
minutes before proceeding with a fresh battery.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION!
Place the rotational direction switch (7) into the
middle position before carrying out any tasks on the
device, e.g. changing tools or maintenance, or before
transporting or storing the device. Unintentional
operation of the On/Off switch (1) may result in injury.
Always pull the battery charger (14) out of the mains
socket and remove the battery pack before you clean
or maintain the device.
The FORCE cordless drill/driver is maintenance-free.
1) Always keep the device clean, dry and free of oil
or grease.
2) Clean the device immediately after you have
finished using it.
3) Do not allow any liquids to enter the device. Use a
cloth to clean the housing.
4) Never use petrol, solvents or cleaning agents that
might damage plastic parts.
Maintenance Charge
If you leave the battery pack in the charger to prevent
spontaneous discharging after full charge, the charger
will switch into its "trickle charge (maintenance charge)"
mode and keep the battery pack fresh and fully
charged.
Tips for maintaining maximum battery life
1) Charge the battery pack before completely
discharged. Always stop tool operation and charge
the battery pack when you notice a decrease in tool
power.
2) Never recharge a fully charged battery pack. Over-
charging shortens the battery service life.
3) Charge the battery pack with room temperature at
10º-40ºC (50º-104ºF). Let a hot battery pack cool
down before charging it.
4) Charge the Nickel-cadmium battery pack when you
do not use it for more than six months.
