c. Helipad
Required: 8 D batteries or an external adapter type PS1208 (not incl.)
1. Use an appropriate screwdriver to unscrew the battery compartment screw at the bottom of the helipad.
2. Slide the battery compartment lid back until the tabs align with the slots and remove the lid.
3. Install the 8 D batteries. Make sure the polarity is correct.
4. Put the battery compartment lid back and fasten the screw.
5. You don't need to install batteries in the helipad when using a power adapter (e.g. PS1208, not incl.)
d. Helicopter
The helicopter has built-in rechargeable batteries.
You need to fully charge it twice before the first use to optimize the battery condition.
Never double-charge your helicopter after the first flight!
Charging procedure:
1. Apply a 12Vdc voltage, max. 800mA, to the DC in jack on the helipad (p.1 #16).
2. Put the helicopter on the helipad, with its landing gear (p.1 #5) on the launching rods (#12).
3. Make sure the helicopter's on/off switch (#4) is set to off and insert the charge nozzle (#17) all the way into the
helicopter's charging port (#3).
4. Set the charger's on/off switch (#15) to ON and press the charger's button (#14). The red LED will light up and the
green one will extinguish to indicate the helicopter is being charged. Full charging takes approx. 3 minutes.
5. When the helicopter is fully charged, the red LED will extinguish and the green one will light up.
4. Flying the Helicopter
a. Pre-flight Weather and Location Check
1. Do not fly in extreme temperatures (<10°C/50°F or >45°C/113°F), as this may affect performance and possibly
damage the helicopter.
2. Do not fly in the wind, as this limits your ability to control the helicopter and it may be lost or damaged.
3. Do not fly in poor weather conditions: rain, snow and other bad conditions may damage your helicopter.
4. Select a wide open area for flying: do not fly near other people, animals, trees, buildings, overhead wires etc.
b. Preparing for Take-off
1. Fully extend the antenna.
2. Set the on/off switch on the remote control (#10) to on. The green power LED will light up.
3. Put the helicopter on the helipad with its landing gear (#5) on the launching rods (#12).
4. Set the on/off switch on the helicopter (#4) to on.
5. Stand back - make sure you are at least 5 metres away from the helicopter before launching.
6. Make sure there are no obstacles near the helicopter (animals or passers-by). You are now ready for takeoff.
c. Flying the Helicopter
1. CONTROL RANGE: the control range of the helicopter is 300ft (100m). Beware of wind: when the helicopter is
out of range, you will not be able to control it.
2. FLIGHT TIME: on a full charge and in low wind conditions, the helicopter will fly for 30s-2min. If the helicopter
cannot fly that long, you may need to change the 8 D batteries in the helipad.
3. SAFETY FEATURE: BUILT-IN TEMPERATURE SENSOR: if the internal temperature in the helicopter becomes
too high, the sensor will AUTOMATICALLY shut down the helicopter by slowing down the rotor speed, causing
the helicopter to land gently. The sensor is installed to prevent battery overheating and helps to ensure a long
lifespan for the helicopter.
Let the helicopter cool down for at least 10 minutes every 4 to 5 flights.
