DESCRIPTION
The DATA remote control is a device designed to remotely control the DATA LOG +
and DATA LOG 2+ time switches or ASTRO SAT switches.
This is achieved by the user using a simple interface with a keypad and backlight
display.
It includes an internal clock that permits time synchronisation and a table of cities
for geographical location synchronisation.
It uses its internal memory to copy the configuration of other equipment facilitating
the installer's work when setting up a new installation.
Equipment communications takes place via an infrared port.
FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
It can receive configurations from other equipment and save them in its internal
memory.
Uploading information to other equipment. This information comes from the
control memory.
Manually programming time and location with a list of cities - zones.
Information display in several languages.
Setting screen contrast.
KEYPAD FUNCTIONS
C - Cancel. Return to previous option. Turn on and turn off the remote control.
OK - Confirm.
▲ / ▼ – Move forward/back through the menu. Increase/decrease values.
◄ / ► - Change option YES / NO on the display screens.
CHANGING BATTERIES
The batteries are changed by removing the rear cover on the unit. The battery
polarity shown inside the casing must be respected.
Note: The programmed date and time are lost when the batteries are replaced.
USING INFRARED
Communication with any device, DATA LOG +, DATA LOG 2+, or ASTRO SAT,
and others, requires such devices to be switched on.
In order to read or upload the programming of a device, the device cover must be
removed and pointed as shown in the figure, at a distance of approximately 20 to
30 cm.
TRANSMITTER
The device automatically recognises the remote control and INFRARED PRESS
MENU, is displayed, press the MENU on the device and data transfer will be
executed.
During data transfer, WAITING is displayed if there is no transfer and RECEIVING
if all is correct. OK is displayed for three seconds when the transfer is correctly
completed and the display returns to normal.

IMPORTANT:
Maximum range is one metre. Avoid direct sunlight.
Keep the control facing the device until the read or upload operation is
completed.
DATA
Do not perform data transfers with more than one device at a time, it may cause
programming errors.
OPERATION / CONFIGURATION
The PRESENTATION screen displays the ORBIS logo after inserting the batteries.
The main screen is then shown after a few seconds.
MAIN SCREEN

This screen displays an icon with battery condition and, in the centre, is the time
and below this are the coordinates of the last acquired geographic location.
This screen provides access to the main screen by pressing OK.

TURN ON / TURN OFF THE REMOTE CONTROL
If the C key is pressed in the MAIN screen, the equipment will turns off. Similarly, it
will automatically turn off if the control is not used for approximately one minute.
To activate it, press C button for 3 seconds till display lights again.
IMPORTANT:
In order to lengthen battery life, it is recommended to reduce CONTRAST during
use and turn off the remote control when don't use it.
MAIN MENU
This allows selection between operations with Devices, Configuration changes
and choosing a location.
DEVICES
This allows device programming to be read followed by uploading this to
another device or saving it in the remote control for later use.
In order to read device programming, point the control towards it and press OK.
The device will display INFRARED PRESS MENU and when MENU is pressed
the data transfer commences.
The following appears when the transfer is complete:
If SAVE is selected, a screen is shown requesting the name with which the
programming is to be saved. The ◄ ► keys add a new letter (maximum five
characters). The ▲ ▼ keys modify the selected letter and the name is
confirmed with OK.
POWERED
EQUIPMENT
The Saved Devices menu is used to upload programming to another device by
selecting previously saved programming.
To upload programming to another device, select SEND with OK and point the
control towards it. The device will display INFRARED PRESS MENU, and the
data transfer begins when MENU is pressed.
