Emergency and Mains only Luminaires
1. Mounting and wiring
To remove the diffuser, insert a small screwdriver into the narrow
groove and lever out to unclip as shown.
To remove the gear tray, insert a small screwdriver into the slot at
one end and lever out.
The fitting may be mounted in any position, but when mounted
vertically (ie. on a wall) the Luminaire should be positioned as
shown inside, ie.
'This way up'.
Drill the body of the Luminaire for fixings and screw into position.
Connect the main electrical supply:

The permanent supply is not required for the mains only Luminaires.
Refit the geartray taking care to position the cables away from
internal components.
Finally refit the diffuser and secure

Emergency Luminaires
2. Commissioning
Switch on the mains supply. Check that the unit operates correctly.
On self-contained units check that the LED shows. Leave the unit
on charge for about 1 hour, then simulate a mains failure, and check
that the lamp operates in the emergency mode.
The battery requires 24 hours to fully charge the battery and
become operational.
3. Maintenance
Daily:
Check the LED indicator shows, and on maintained
units check that the lamp operates.
Monthly:
Check that the unit operates in the emergency mode
for up to a 1/4 of the required duration.
Bi-annually: Check that the unit operates for 1 hour.
3 years:
Check that the unit operates for the full duration.
Annually
thereafter:
Check that the unit operates for the full duration.
If the unit fails to provide the required duration, replace the battery
with the identical type.
