• The maximum height of descent is 200 metres.
• The Smartline X is fitted with a mini shock absorber in order to absorb dynamic peek loads during rigging and descend within
the safety factor of 5.
• The anchor point must accept loads of at least 1200 kg or be approved according to EN795
• The anchor sling and the line must not rest over sharp edges that might cause damage or cutting. When possible utilize edge
protection if needed.
• The Smartline X must not be used for fall arrest, only in emergency for descending.
WARNING!
• A rescue plan shall be in place to deal with emergencies.
• The descender device should only be used by a person competent in its use or following clear emergency protocols.
• The descender device is for rescue purposes only.
• Any slack between the anchor point and the user should be avoided.
• It is vital to keep control of the tail rope to reduce the risk of serious injury or death.
• It is vital always to descend in control, because loss of control may be difficult to recover .
• Against making any alteration to the product without the manufacturer´s prior written consent.
• The device shall be redrawn from service if it has been implicated in arresting a fall – if the device has been used to
perform a descent.
• During long descents and depending on speed and load, the descender will get hot, and must not be touched other
places than on the handle and the line.
• The use of heavy duty working gloves is mandatory to avoid injuries on hands and fingers!
• If the product is exported, the dealer is shall supply the translation of this user, maintenance and inspection instruction
into the official language of the country where the product is to be used.
Depending on distance, speed and load on long descends (more than 80 m), you may even experience smoke coming from the
body of the device and from the line, where it exits the device.
Under humid/wet conditions it may be experienced as "a lot of smoke".
Both the generated heat and the smoke is known factors that have been accessed care- fully during development and certification.
Utilizing the device within the specification of this manual together with adequate training, as required, offers the user a safe
emergency evacuation from up to 200 m of height at a max. load of 140kg.
