Unpacking your pump
• Carefully unpack and inspect the pump.
• If any parts are damaged or missing, have these parts
repaired or replaced before use.
Installation
• The pump must always be installed in a suitable position.
Ensure that the pump is properly supported, and that it will
not be exposed to moisture or freezing temperatures.
• The electrical parts of the pump are not waterproof.
• The level of the water inlet must not be more than 8
metres above the water supply. The further the pump is
located above the supply, the less efficient it will be.
• For maximum efficiency keep the vertical distance that the
pump has to lift water to a minimum.
• The water supply must pass through a filter screen (not
supplied) before reaching the pump. Debris drawn into the
pump may cause permanent damage.
• The pump must only be supplied with cool water. Hot
water may cause permanent damage to the pump,
attempting to pump other liquids may cause damage to
the pump, fire, or explosion.
Pipe connections
• Inlet and outlet pipes must have an internal diameter of at
least 25mm
• Pipe connections need to be watertight. Ensure that
connectors are properly fitted, do not over tighten.
• If the water supply is located below the inlet, it may be
necessary to fit a one way valve to the inlet pipe to allow
proper priming.

Operating instructions
Priming the pump
• Before initial use, or after draining, the water pump must
be primed. Priming is not necessary if the water supply is
pressurised.
• To prime the pump, unscrew the priming plug (2) and
slowly pour clean water into the open hole.
• Top up until full. This may take a few minutes as air
pockets are released.
• Refit the priming plug (2).
Switching on
• When the above steps have all been taken, the pump can
be connected to the power supply.
• To start the pump, press the part of the on/off switch (5)
marked "1".
• To stop the pump, press the part of the on/off switch (5)
marked "0"
• If the pump does not operate correctly, disconnect from
the power supply, and check the following points:
• Check that water supply is not blocked
• Check that outlet pipe is not blocked
• Check for air pockets, re-prime pump.
Maintenance and disposal
• Always allow the pump to cool fully, and disconnect
the power supply before attempting any kind of
maintenance.
• Check and clean inlet filter screen regularly.
• To drain the pump, unscrew the drain plug (4). Allow all
water to drain, replace plug before use.
Disposal
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical
and electronic equipment, with household waste.
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information
on the proper way to dispose of tools.
