Safety Considerations
• WARNING: Do not connect energizer simultaneously to a fence and to any other device
such as a cattle trainer or a poultry trainer. Otherwise, lightning striking your fence will be
conducted to all other devices.
• CAUTION: Risk of electric shock! For plug-in energizers (not solar or battery) with a
2-blade polarized attachment plug, to reduce the risk of electric shock, this fence control-
ler has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in a polarized
outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still
does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to install the proper outlet. Do not change the
plug in any way.
• Do not install where small children, the elderly or unhealthy persons may come in contact
with the live portions of the electric fencing. Use electric fence warning signs where ever
humans may come in contact with the fence.
• Never electrify barbed wire or loose fencing materials that risk entanglement of a human
or animal. Exposure to continuous or multiple shocks is dangerous.
• Stay away from the fence energizer and from the fence line just before and during lightning
storms. In lightning prone areas, disconnect the energizer from the fence and from the
power supply in advance of storms to prevent damage to the energizer.
• Follow all national, state and local regulations that may apply to installation of electric
fence in your area.
• Refer to authorized repair center for service. There are no user serviceable parts. Never alter
the design of the energizer. Doing so is dangerous and will void the warranty.
• Always unplug the energizer before handling any part of the energizer.

Safety Considerations • Never put more than one energizer on a fence. Doing so is dangerous because it may re- duce the time off between pulses, may damage the energizer and will void the warranty. • Do not run fence wire above ground near high voltage power lines. If too close, the electric fence may pick up dangerous levels of power from high voltage lines. Never cross under a high voltage line with electric fence. • Always maintain an adequate ground system securely attached to the energizer. • Do not alter the polarity of the energizer plug on 110V operated energizers. For battery operated energizers, the red battery clamp connects to the positive (+) battery terminal. The black battery clamp connects to the negative (-) battery terminal. • Never charge a battery that is connected to a fence energizer. Always disconnect the bat- tery from the energizer first. • WARNING! Electric fences are very effective psychological barriers when properly in- stalled and when animals are trained to the fence. Electric fences are NOT complete physi- cal barriers. Erratic animal behavior cannot be predicted and occasional fence penetration can occur. Therefore, Power Wizard assumes no liability for animal containment, injury or the consequences for misuse of the equipment. • WARNING! Never touch the live fence with the head or mouth. • DANGER – Service double insulated appliances with identical parts only. Double insu- lated energizers include two systems for insulation instead of grounding. • WARNING! Sparks may occur in electric fence systems. Therefore, during periods of high fire risk, electric fence energizers should be turned off. - Página 3 Components Included 1 GROUND 1 - 2' GROUND ROD ROD CLAMP 210' 10 FENCE POSTS ELECTRIC Diagram 1 FENCE WIRE Installation Step 1 Installing the ground system: The ground system is a highly conductive ground rod (or ground rods depending on your soil condition) driven into the soil and then connected to the ground terminal of your fence energizer. The ground system collects electrons from the soil to complete the circuit needed for delivery of effective shock. An improperly installed ground system will limit or prevent the fence line from delivering an effective shock. 1. Locate an area of soil for placing ground rod (or rods) that contains good conductive earth (not rocky or sandy). Soil that is moist throughout the year is best. The ground system should be located within 75 feet of your fence energizer and at least 25 feet from buildings.
- Página 4 Installation Step 2 Installing the fence energizer: 1. Mount the fence energizer at eye level and out of reach of small children and animals, protected from weather and moisture and away from all flammable materials and gasses in a well-ventilated area. See diagram 3. 2. Install the fence energizer indoors when possible. If it is necessary to install the fence energizer outdoors, protect the energizer and all electrical connections from exposure to the elements. See diagram 4. 3. Before connecting the fence and ground terminals, plug the energizer in and check to see if the indicator light is flashing. The light should be flashing and you should hear a click at 1 to 2 second intervals. UNPLUG the energizer before making fence connections. Diagram 3. - Página 5 Installation Step 3 Installing the fence posts and wire: 1. Locate the fence within 75 feet of your ground system. Place the provided posts in the area which you plan to contain. Space the fence posts a maximum of 10 feet apart. Attach the fence wire to the posts by sliding the wire into the clips attached to the fence posts. 2. Make sure each wire is connected to the fence energizer directly or by jumpers that con- nect to the first wire. Ensure that these are secure mechanical and electrical connections. See diagram 5. 3. The fence wires need to be clean and free of grass or other foliage. Any foliage touching the fence wires can short the fence to ground and will adversely affect the fence perfor- mance. It may be necessary in your situation not to use the bottom set of clips on the fence posts for running a charged wire. Diagram 5. • Antes de manipular cualquier pieza, desenchufe siempre el artefacto. • Núnca coloque más de un artefacto en una cerca. Hacerlo es peligros porque podría re- ducir el tiempo de apagado entre pulsos, podría dañar el aparato y anulará la garantía. • No opere el alambre de la valla encíma de la línea de alimentación de alto voltaje cerca de la toma a tierra. Núnca cruce bajo la línea de alto voltaje de una cerca eléctrica. • Mantener siempre un sistema de toma a tierra adecuado adjúnto al artefacto. • No alterar la polaridad del enchufe del aparato en artefactos alimentados por 110V. Para artefactos que funcionan a pilas la abrazadera roja de la batería se conecta al terminal (+) de la bateria. La abrazadera negra de la batería se conecta al terminal (–) de la batería. • Núnca cargue una batería que este conectada a un artefacto en la cerca. Primero, desco- necte siémpre la batería del aparato. • ¡AVISO! La cercas eléctricas son barreas psicológicas muy eficaces cuando estan insta- ladas correctamente y cuando los animales son familiarizados con la cerca. Las cercas eléctricas no son barreras fisicas completas. El comportamiento imprevisible de un ani- mal no puede predecirse y una penetración ocasional puede ocurrir. Los componentes incluyeron 1 ABRAZADERA 1 - 2' TIERRAS ROD DE TIERRA DE ROD ALAMBRE 10 CERCA LOS POSTES DE LA CERCA 210' Diagrama 1 Instalación del paso 1 Instalando el sistema de toma a tierra: El sistema de toma a tierra es una jabalina altamente conductora (o varias jabalinas depen- diendo de la condición del suelo) clavada en el suelo y luego conectada con la terminal de la toma a tierra de tu artefacto de la cerca. El sistema de toma a tierra recoge electrones del suelo para completer el circuíto requerido para la entrega de una descarga efectiva. Un sistema de toma a tierra incorrectamente instalado limitará o evitará que la línea de la cerca entregue una descarga efectiva. - Página 10 Instalación del paso 2 Instalación del artefacto de la cerca: 1. Subir el aparato de la cerca al nivel del ojo y fuera del alcance de niños y animales peque- ños, protegido del tiempo y la humedad y alejado de materiales y gases inflamables en un área bien ventilada. 2. Instale el artefacto de la cerca hacia adentro como le sea posible. Si es necesario instalarlo al aire libre, protéjalo con toda sus conexiones contra la exposición a elementos externos. Ver diagrama 3 y 4. 3. Antes de conectar la cerca y los terminales de toma a tierra enchufar el aparato y compro- bar para ver si la luz del indicador esta destellando. La luz debe destellar y escucharás un click de 1 a 2 segundos de intervalos. Diagrama 3. Instalación del paso 3 Instalación de los postes y del alambre de la cerca: 1. Ubique la cerca dentro de los 75 pies de tu sistema de toma a tierra. Colóque los postes en el área que planeas encerrar. Separar los postes de la cerca un máximo de 10 pies de separación. Unir el alambre de la cerca a los postes deslizando el alambre dentro de los clips unidos a os postes de la cerca. 2. Comprueba que cada alambre este conectado directamente con el artefacto de la cerca o por los puentes que conectan al primer alambre. Asegúrese de que sean éstos son asegu- rados con conexiones mecánicas y eléctricas. Ver el diagrama 5. 3. Los alambres de la cerca necesitan estar limpios y libres de hierba o de otros follajes. Cualquier follaje que toque los alambres de la cerca pueden ponerla en cortocircuito y afectará su funcionamiento. Puede ser necesario en tu situación no utilizar el sistema inferior de clips en los postes de la cerca par funcionar un alambre cargado. Diagrama 5. -
