◾
Aggressive or abusive cutting or misuse of the chain saw can cause
premature bar, chain, and/or sprocket wear, as well as a broken chain or
bar, leading to kickback, chain throw or the ejection of material.
◾
Never use the guide bar as a lever. A bent guide bar can cause premature bar,
chain, and/or sprocket wear, as well as a broken chain or bar, leading to kickback,
chain throw or the ejection of material.
◾
Cut only one work piece at a time.
◾
Do not try to catch falling sections or make cuts if the operator is only
attached with one rope. Always use two safety ropes.
◾
During felling operations, lift your hearing protection immediately when
the sawing is complete. It is important that you hear sounds and warning
signals.
◾
If the saw chain is blocked by an object: Switch off the chainsaw, engage
the chain brake and remove the power plug, then remove the object causing the
blockage.
◾
Check chain tension regularly during cutting work. If chain tension is
insufficient: Tension the chain.
