Special safety instructions

The infrared thermometer can use a visible
laser beam when measuring.
Do not look directly into the laser beam, as
this may damage your sight!
The laser beam must not be directed at
people or animals, and it must not be
directed at any re� ective material, such as
glass or foil.
The thermometer must not be exposed to
water or damp.
The thermometer must not be used to
measure the body temperature of animals or
people.
Do not use the thermometer near electro-
magnetic � elds from arc welders, induction
heaters, etc.
Inaccurate readings may result from
measuring shiny or polished metal surfaces.
The thermometer may not be able to
measure the temperature correctly in
environments where there is steam, smoke,
dust or other particles in the air.
Avoid exposing the thermometer to dramatic
changes in temperature in a short time. Give
the thermometer up to 30 minutes to adapt
to the ambient temperature.
Use
Press the on/off button (1) to turn on the
thermometer.
Choose between display in Celsius or
Fahrenheit by pressing button (2).
The symbol (J) for the selected temperature
unit will be shown on the display.
Direct the lens towards the area where the
temperature is to be measured.
Press the on/off button (2) and hold it in.
While the temperature is being measured,
the symbol SCAN (B) will be shown on the
display.
When you release the on/off button,
the symbol HOLD (A) will appear on the
display to show that the measurement has
concluded. You can read the temperature (K)
on the display.
The thermometer turns off automatically
after 20 seconds.
Laser
The thermometer measures using an
invisible infrared beam.
In order to know precisely where the
measurement is being taken, turn the laser
beam on by pressing button (4).
The laser on icon (C) is shown on the display.
The measurement point will now be marked
with a shining dot from the laser beam.
The dot must not be larger than the point
to be measured. If it is, move closer to the
measurement point. If it is important to have
a very accurate temperature, the object must
be at least twice as big as the dot.
The ratio between the dot and the distance
is 1:12. This means that the distance between
the thermometer and object is 12 times
greater than the diameter of the dot.
If the laser dot has a diameter of 2.5 cm, the
distance is approximately 30 cm.
