CONNECTING LANYARDS IRUDEK
CAREFULLY READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THE LANYARD
The lanyards IRUDEK are classified as PPE ( Personal Protective Equipment ) by the European
PPE Regulation EU 2016/425
and are in conformity to the European Norm EN 354:2010 ( lanyards
).

DESCRIPTION
A lanyard is a connecting element and can be used as a component of a fall arrest system. Can be
used with an energy absorber according to EN 355.
A lanyard without energy absorber should not be used in a fall arrest system.
A lanyard can be equipped with connectors (EN 362).
APPLICATION
The use of the lanyard with a fall arrest subsystem must be compatible with the operating
instructions for each component of the system and the Norms: EN 355, EN 361, EN 362.
USE
Follow steps 1 to 2 for the use of the lanyard. The lanyard has two thimbles, stitched one at each
end, used as connecting points.
Step 1: Connect one end to a component of a fall arrest system through a connector according to
EN 362. If the component has a connector on its anchor point, connect it directly to the connector.
Step 2: Following the instructions in step 1, connect the other end of the lanyard to the other
component to connect.
MATERIAL
The webbing lanyard IRUDEK 30100 is manufactured from 30mm polyester webbing, IRUDEK
NEXION rope lanyards are manufactured from Ø 12mm polyamide rope, and connectors are
manufactured from steel.
LIMITATIONS FOR USE
- Personal protective equipment should be a personal issue item
-It is recommended that the anchor point where the fall arrest system is going to be fixed should be
placed above the position of the user. Anchor point must have a minimum static strength of 12 kN
and must be in conformity to EN 795 requirements.
- Personal protective equipment must not be used by a person with medical condition that could
affect the safety of the equipment user in normal and emergency use.
- Personal protective equipment shall only be used by a person trained and competent in its safe use.
