OPERATING THE SWEEPER
ATTACHMENT (FIG. H)
WARNING: Position the sweeper on the
right side of your body when operating the
unit. Using the sweeper on your left side can
expose you to hot surfaces and potentially
lead to injury.
WARNING: Do not operate the sweeper
with the bottom of the engine near your
waist. This will help prevent burns from a
heated surface.
WARNING: Never use the sweeper on an
unstable surface (such as a rooftop). This can
result in a serious personal injury or death.
WARNING: Do not wear loose clothing,
scarves, or jewelry while operating the
sweeper. These items can get caught in the
sweeper's moving parts and cause injury or
death.
WARNING: Discharge debris away from
electrical devices to reduce the risk of
electrocution or electric shock.
WARNING: Do not point the sweeper at
people, pets, or small animals. Debris from
the sweeper can cause serious personal injury
or death.
WARNING: Do not use the sweeper on
raised objects. These objects can damage
the unit. If you do strike a raised object while
using the sweeper, and this results in damage
or vibration, discontinue use immediately.
Operating a damaged sweeper can result in
serious personal injury.

Operation and Maintenance
WARNING: Never place any part of your
body in front of the sweeper while operating
the unit. Do not touch the rotating brushes
while operating the unit. Before clearing any
obstructions, always make sure all moving
parts have stopped, and ensure the unit is
unplugged. For extra protection, unplug the
unit, remove the battery, and disconnect
the spark plug wire. Failure to follow these
instructions could result in serious personal
injury.
WARNING: Keep the sweeper a minimum
of 15 inches away from your feet while
operating the unit.
Hold the sweeper attachment firmly with both
hands: use your right hand for the rear handle
and the left for the front handle Keep the trigger
handle at hip height to help you work comfortably
This will also help you keep your balance as the
bristles rotate
• Make sure you are on a stable footing and move
the sweeper with slow and steady strokes on the
area you are cleaning Do not pull the sweeper
toward you as you work To stop the brushes
from rotating, release the throttle
• You must make sure the rotating brushes have
come to a complete stop before you set the
sweeper down
• It is helpful to make note of the wind's direction
before you begin sweeping Discharge the debris
in the direction of the wind to prevent any
material from getting thrown in your face as you
work
