DO NOT OPEN
•
Check that the supply voltage on the outlet's data plate is
compatible with your electrical installation.
•
Do not use these devices:
-
if the outlet is damaged in any way,
-
in the event of a malfunction,
-
if liquid has been spilled on the products or if objects have
entered the appliances,
-
if the outlets have been exposed to rain or come into contact
with water,
-
if the product casings are damaged,
-
if the products do not work even after correctly following all
instructions for use.
•
Plug the powerline adapters into an easily accessible power
outlet.
•
The powerline adapters are intended for indoor home use only.
•
Do not place the adapters near a source of heat, such as
radiator, a hot air vent, an oven or any other appliance (including
amplifiers) that produces heat.
•
Do not expose the adapters to direct sunlight or dust.
•
Use the adapters in a dry environment.
•
Do not use the adapters near water or places where moisture
may be present, such as a bath, washbasin, kitchen sink, near
a swimming pool, in a damp basement or any other damp
location.
•
Do not place anything that produces an open flame (a lighted
candle for example) on or near the devices.
•
The crevices and openings on the powerline adapters are for
ventilation and must not be blocked or covered.
•
Never place objects in the openings of the powerline adapters or
use objects to gain access to them.
•
Unplug the adapters during storms, or if it is not going to be
used for a long period, to avoid damage.
•
Unplug the adapters to disconnect the power to the devices.
•
Keep the powerline adapters out of the reach of children.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play
with the adapters.
•
If your adapters malfunction, in particular if they make sounds
or smells that seem abnormal, stop using them immediately and
take them to an authorised repair centre.
•
Disconnect the powerline adapters before cleaning them.
•
Only clean them using a soft, dry cloth and avoid the use of
aerosols.
•
Only use these adapters in temperate climates. Avoid tropical
and particularly humid climates.
•
When installing and using the equipment, leave at least 20 cm
between the radiator and yourself.
Installation recommendations
Powerline adapters send and receive data via your home's
electrical grid. The adapters may be affected by electrical noise or
the length of wiring in your home.
POWER OUTLET CONNECTION
Do not connect the powerline adapters to an inverter. For optimal
performance, connect the powerline adapters directly to a power
outlet. Avoid connecting high-powered devices to the same
power outlet. Plug these devices into an extension cord to avoid
interference:
•
Do not plug the powerline adapters into an extension cord.
Do not plug other mains adapters and chargers into the same
power outlet block as the powerline adapter.
•
Do not plug the powerline adapters into an extension cord with
other mains adapters and chargers.
POWER STRIP CONNECTION
If you need to connect a mains adapter to a power strip, follow
these guidelines:
•
Make sure that the power strip is not filtered or a surge
suppressor. This could alter the data sent and received on the
power grid. Flow rate and distance may be degraded.
•
Use a power strip with the shortest possible cable.
•
Plug the powerline adapter directly into the wall outlet, and
then plug the power strip into the adapter's integrated outlet, as
shown in the diagram above.
•
Do not plug the adapter into a power strip that is plugged into
another power strip.
. ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE
Some electrical devices emit electrical noise. If this noise spreads
to your home's electrical system, it can affect the performance,
speed and reliability of your adapters. For optimal performance,
connect these devices to a filtered power strip.
The following devices may cause interference: battery chargers
(including mobile phone chargers), hair dryers, drills, vacuum
cleaners, halogen lamps, light bulbs or sensor lamps.
. ELECTRICAL GRIDS
Powerline adapters send and receive information via your home's
electrical grid. If two powerline adapters are connected to wall
outlets that are separated by long electrical wiring, the adapters
may not communicate with each other optimally.
. BUSINESS INSTALLATION
Installing
powerline
adapters
for
business
RECOMMENDED due to certain risks that degrade or interfere
with communication. Powerline adapters cannot be guaranteed for
business use in offices or factories.
