16.3. Stereo/mono reception
The stereo reception of a station in FM (UKW range) is indicated on the display by
the ST symbol.
If the stereo reception is weak (there is noise interference), the reception signal can
sometimes be improved by switching to mono reception.
Press the ST/MO button to switch between stereo and mono reception.
17. Playing back CDs and USB storage media
Press the CD/USB/TAPE/LINE IN once or several times until, depending on
the required operating mode
− CD or
− USB is shown on the display.
17.1. Notes on the media
Note the following:
•
Due to the numerous different file systems and file formats, connected USB
memory sticks cannot be guaranteed to function.
•
Depending on the size of the data medium, it may take some time for the sys-
tem to be detected.
•
Supported file systems are FAT16 and FAT32. The supported file format is MP3.
•
Depending on the medium, certain functions may not be supported. For exam-
ple, on an audio CD you might not be able to select a folder or the track informa-
tion.
•
External hard disks are not supported.
17.2. Inserting a CD
Make sure that there is about 15 cm of space above the device so that the lid of the
CD compartment can open without hindrance.
Press PUSH OPEN on the front of the CD compartment to open it.
The CD compartment lid opens upwards. OPEN will appear on the display.
Place a CD with the labelled side up onto the axis in the centre of the CD com-
partment.
Press lightly on the side, so that it clicks into place on the axis.
Close the CD compartment by gently pressing down the compartment lid. The
CD will start to rotate, and will appear on the display.
The first track will start to play immediately.
If no disc is inserted, or if the disc cannot be read, the display reads NO CD.
Wait until the CD has stopped rotating before opening
the CD compartment. Press
