How The Solar Heater Works:
Water flows out of your pool and through the filter pump into the Solar Heater. A plug built into the lower
header pipe of the Solar Heater forces the water up through the left half of the unit. When the water
reaches the Solar Heater's upper header pipe, it flows to the right and back down through the right half
of the Solar Heater. As the water travels through the Solar Heater, it is heated by the sun. The heated
water then flows out of the Solar Heater and back to your pool.
Where should I put the Solar Heater?
The Solar Heater should be placed on a hard, level surface.
Never place the Solar Heater on a roof or other standing structure.
Position the Solar Heater on the ground where it will receive at least 10 hours of direct sunlight a day.
The more exposure to the sun the greater the water temperature will increase.
The Solar Heater should be angled toward the sun using the legs provided.
When should I run the Solar Heater?
The Solar Heater works best when the sun is shining.
NOTE:
The Solar Heater is to be installed between the filter pump and the pool water return inlet. The Solar
Heater must be placed after the filter to prevent buildup of dirt/debris in the tubing.
If the Solar Heater needs to be further from the filter than the hose length allows, you may need to
purchase longer hose with a
coupler (not included). In this case, make certain you have two hose clamps to secure the hose to the
coupler.
Ensure that at any connection point, the hose connections are tight and hose is NOT kinked or bent at
severe angles. If the hose leaks, check to make sure ALL of the parts that use O-Rings are attached
correctly and secured tightly. DO NOT over tighten hose clamps.
You may find that the hose ends are difficult to put over the hose adapters. If this is the case, soak
the hose ends in hot water to soften up and then place them over the hose adapters.
When attaching any hose to any connection, make sure to use the provided hose clamps. Slip a hose
clamp over the hose end BEFORE connecting.
