OWNER´S MANUAL FOR HOT PLATE STIRRERS
The care you take in reading and following this instructions will probably determinate the satisfactory
service you will receive from your Hot Plate Stirrer.
NOTE: This equipment must be used only for its intended application, any alteration or modification
will
avoid the guarantee.
UNPACKING
Carefully remove the Hot Plate Stirrer from the shipping case. Preserve all paper work for future
reference. If damage has occurred from shipment a claim must be filled with the carrier immediately;
preserve the shipping container for inspection by the carrier. Contact your Daler or Felisa.
INSTALLATION
Install your Hot Plate Stirrer by connecting to a supply of adequate voltage, cycle, phase and wattage
(see specification label). Voltage should not vary more than 10% from the data plate rating.
When selecting a site for the equipment, consider all conditions which might affect performance. The
Hot Plate Stirrer can be install on any surface or table sufficiently strong and firm. Allow al least a space
of 15 cm between the Hot Plate and any other equipment, material or surface.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The temperature control (15), regulates the temperature in the plate (1) proportionally, based on the
control knob (14) selection. This knob allows the user to select temperatures between 100 and 350 °C
with an approximate error of + - 10%. The knob operation is CCW. The armored type stainless steel
heating element (2) is integrated with the aluminum die casting plate giving a high efficiency in the
heat transfer. The heating element is easily replaceable.
STIRRING VELOCITY CONTROL
The stirring velocity control (24) regulates the velocity in the plate (1) proportionally based on the
control knob (14) selection. This control allows the user to select velocities between 50 and 1,500 RPM
with an approximated error of + - 10%.
OPERATION
Put the vessel with the liquid to stirr or mix, add inside the magnetic bar, center the vessel on the plate.
Turn on the equipment with the pilot switch (25), then with the right side control knob increase
gradually to the desired velocity, the pilot light will turn on and the magnetic barr starts the stirring
until reach the selected velocity. This equipment is provided with a pair of powerfull and permanent
magnets and with a 2.5 cm magnetic bar.
For the temperature control use the left side knob and select the desired temperature and the plate
starts the heating until reach the select temperature. It is important to understand that the
temperature selected in the control correspond to the plate temperature. When you don't need heat in
the plate turn off the equipment.
PRECAUTIONS
Never touch the Hot Plate Stirrer until you are absolutely sure that the plate is cool.
To carry out any maintenance work disconnect the Hot Plate Stirrer from its energy source.
Variations in voltage con damage the components and modify the control settings.
