6. Close the protective cover.
Lifejacket with Hammar inflator
1. Open the protective cover at its right side and check
the release mechanism.
Note: The inflator does not function if:
• The release handle is missing.
• There is air in the buoyancy chamber.
• Expiry date is overdue.
• The piercing pin mounted at the yellow hydrostatic
inflator is red.
2. Check oral inflation valve and tube.
3. Check whistle.
4. Check straps and buckles.
5. Check that the lifejacket is undamaged. You may
inflate the lifejacket by mouth but remember to
empty out the air again. Then repack it as described in
Packing (4.3). Note: Avoid activating the inflator.
6. Close the protective cover.
The hydrostatic inflator can only be opened using a
special opener enclosed in the spare parts set.
IMPORTANT: If the lifejacket is not intact, do not use it. Make
sure that the release handle and line is protruding outside of
the cover.
4.2 CLEANING
Clean the lifejacket in mild soapy water only.
4.3 PACKING
A. Lifejacket with Halkey Roberts inflator
1. Place the lifejacket flat on a table or similar.
2. Fold the inner part of the right-hand buoyancy
compartment in towards the centre.
3. Fold the outer part of the right-hand buoyancy
compartment in towards the centre.
The inflator must be on top.
4. Close the cover on the right-hand side.
5. Fold the inner part of the left-hand buoyancy
compartment in towards the centre.
6. Fold the outer part of the left-hand buoyancy
compartment in towards the centre.
7. Close the cover on the left-hand side.
8. Fold the buoyancy compartment's collar in pleats like
a fan.
9. Close the cover in the middle.
10/11. Fold in the corners and close the cover.
Important: Make sure that the release handle is
protruding outside of the cover.
B. Lifejacket with Hammar inflator

compartment in towards the centre.

C. Packing instruction for lifejacket with sprayhood
(only PV9273 and PV9275)
If the lifejacket has a sprayhood the above mentioned
packing instruction must be followed until the above
mentioned point 8 and then the following packing
instruction apply:
9. Fold the top part of the sprayhood towards the
middle.
10. Fold the bottom part of the sprayhood towards the
middle.
11. Close the cover in the middle.
12. Fold in the corners.
13. Close the cover.
Important: Make sure that the release handle is
protruding outside of the cover.
4.4 REPLACEMENT OF CO
A. Automatic inflator
After immersion in water, the lifejacket is to be rinsed
in fresh water. Leave it on a hanger until it is completely
dry. Empty the lifejacket of air through the oral inflation
valve.
1. Unscrew the automatic holder (8) and throw away
the bobbin (7). Carefully rinse the holder in fresh
water and dry it carefully.
2. Unscrew and throw away the used CO
3. Place a new bobbin (7) in the release mechanism.
Screw the automatic holder onto the inflator.
4. The green indicator must be visible on the underside.
5. If the release arm (3) has been pulled out, press it back
into position and place the indicator clip (4) over the
release arm.
6. The gasket (2) under the CO
removed and discarded. Insert a new gasket in the
inflator (5).Place it right at the bottom of the inflator.
7. Screw the CO cylinder (1) into the inflator and hand

tighten.
B. Manual inflator
After immersion in water, the lifejacket is to be rinsed
in fresh water. Leave it on a hanger until it is completely
dry. Empty the lifejacket of air through the oral inflation
valve.
1. Unscrew and discard the used CO
2. If the release arm (3) has been pulled, push it back in
place and attach the lock pin (4) above the release
arm.
