1 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Richtlinie für elektroma-
gnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG und der Nie-
derspannungsrichtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Beachten Sie unbedingt die folgenden Punkte:
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur im Innenbereich.
Schützen Sie es vor Tropf- und Spritzwasser,
hoher Luftfeuchtigkeit und Hitze (zulässiger Ein-
satztemperaturbereich 0 – 40 °C).
Stecken Sie während des Betriebs nichts durch
das Schutzgitter oder – bei den Modellen VF-100
und VF-102 – durch die Lüftungsöffnung auf der
Geräteunterseite. Dies kann zu einem elektri-
schen Schlag bzw. zu einer Beschädigung des
Gerätes führen!
Nehmen Sie das Gerät nicht in Betrieb bzw. ziehen
Sie sofort den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose:
1. wenn sichtbare Schäden am Gerät oder an der
Netzanschlussleitung vorhanden sind,
2. wenn nach einem Sturz oder Ähnlichem der
Verdacht auf einen Defekt besteht,
3. wenn Funktionsstörungen auftreten.
Achtung!
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspan-
nung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie
selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsachge-
mäßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines elek-
trischen Schlages. Lassen Sie das Gerät in einer
Fachwerkstatt reparieren.
Eine beschädigte Netzanschlussleitung darf nur
durch den Hersteller oder durch eine autorisierte
Fachwerkstatt ersetzt werden.
Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker nie an der Zuleitung
aus der Steckdose.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen nur ein trockenes,
weiches Tuch, niemals Wasser oder Chemikalien.

1 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive 89/336/EEC
for electromagnetic compatibility and to the low volt-
age directive 73/23/EEC.
It is essential to observe the following items:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range 0 – 40 °C).
Do not put any objects through the protective grille
during operation or – in case of models VF-100
and VF-102 – through the air vent on the lower
side of the unit. This may cause an electric shock
or a damage to the unit!
Do not set the unit into operation, and immediately
disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. there are malfunctions.
Attention!The unit is supplied with hazardous
mains voltage (230 V~). Leave servicing to skilled
personnel only. Inexpert handling may cause an
electric shock hazard. The unit must in any case
be repaired by skilled personnel.
A damaged mains cable must only be replaced by
the manufacturer or by authorized, skilled person-
nel.
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no
means chemicals or water.
If the unit is used for purposes other than originally
intended, if it is not mounted according to the
directives of these instructions, if it is not operated

men werden, übergeben Sie es zur umweltge-
rechten Entsorgung einem örtlichen Recycling-
betrieb.
2 Einsatzmöglichkeiten
Das Lichteffektgerät „Virtual Flame" erzeugt einen
faszinierenden Flammeneffekt: durch einen Seiden-
stoff, der im Luftstrom flattert und von drei farbigen
Lampen angestrahlt wird, entsteht die Illusion einer
echten, lodernden Flamme.
Das Gerät lässt sich überall dort einsetzen, wo
eine besondere, stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre ge-
schaffen werden soll, z. B. auf der Bühne, in Restau-
rants oder Bars, in Verkaufsräumen oder für private
Feste.
3 Aufstellung /Montage
Das Gerät sollte in Augenhöhe oder noch höher
aufgestellt bzw. montiert werden.
Das Gerät immer waagerecht betreiben.
3.1 Modell VF-100 und VF-102
Das Lichteffektgerät auf einer stabilen, ebenen Flä-
che aufstellen. Das Gerät nicht auf Langflor-Teppi-
che oder Decken stellen, damit die Lüftungsöffnung
auf der Unterseite nicht blockiert wird.
3.1.1 Stativmontage des Modells VF-102
Das Modell VF-102 kann auch wahlweise über den
beiliegenden Adapter auf ein Stativ mit einem Rohr-
durchmesser von 36 mm gesetzt werden. Das Licht-
effektgerät über die Schrauben, mit denen die vier
Standfüße befestigt sind, auf den Stativadapter
montieren. Siehe dazu Abb. 4.

The wires in this mains lead are coloured in ac-
cordance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug,
proceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow
must be connected to the terminal in the plug
which is marked with the letter E or by the earth
symbol
, or coloured green or green and
yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
2 Applications
The light effect unit "Virtual Flame" produces a fasci-
nating flame effect: a silk cloth fluttering in the air
stream, illuminated by three coloured lamps, creates
the illusion of a genuine, blazing flame.
The unit can be used at all places where a special
atmosphere is to be provided, e. g. on stage, in restau-
rants and bars, in salesrooms, or for private parties.
3 Setting-up/Mounting
The unit should be set up or mounted at eye level
or even higher.
Always operate the unit in horizontal position.

3.2 Modell VF-101
Das Lichteffektgerät wird über die beiliegenden drei
Metallketten, die an einem Befestigungsring hängen,
an der Decke montiert.
Für die Befestigung der Ketten am Gehäuse sind
an der Gehäuseschale drei Bohrungen angebracht.
Die drei Ketten mit ihren Haken an den Bohrungen
befestigen, einen stabilen Montagehaken an der
Decke anbringen und das Gerät mit dem Ring am
Montagehaken aufhängen.
3.1 Models VF-100 and VF-102
Place the light effect unit on a stable, even surface.
Do not place the unit on long-piled carpets or on
blankets so that the air vent on the lower side will not
be obstructed.
3.1.1 Stand mounting of model VF-102
Model VF-102 can also alternatively be placed via
the supplied adapter on a stand with a tube diame-
ter of 36 mm. Mount the light effect unit to the stand
adapter via the screws by which the four standing
feet are fixed. See fig. 4.
