OPERATION
Before the first operation
• Remove all packing material, make sure all parts are present and in good
condition.
• Wipe the cheese holder with a soft, slightly moistened cloth.
• Clean the aluminium grill plate and the scraper under warm running water with a
non-abrasive sponge and some soap.
• Place the aluminium grill plate on top of the appliance with the corrugated surface
facing upwards. Make sure that it is securely placed in the holder.
• Before using the unit for the first time, allow it to run without food for 10 minutes. This
will cause the smell to evaporate when the unit is used for the first time. Ventilate the
room well.
Commissioning
1. Place the appliance on a washable, heat-resistant mat to protect sensitive surfaces
from cheese splashes during serving.
2. Pull the swivel arm towards you and place a piece of raclette cheese on the cheese
holder, the cut surface pointing upwards. Attach the cheese to the edge of the
holder using the two hooks.
3. Adjust the distance to the heating element with the adjusting screw and position the
cheese holder in the middle underneath.
Note: Make sure that the raclette cheese does not come into contact with the heating
element!
4. Plug the mains cable into the appliance first and then plug the plug into the socket.
5. Turn the temperature control knob all the way up to heat the heating rod and grill
plate as quickly as possible. You can then set the temperature to a medium level.
6. Coat the grill plate with some oil, especially when cooking non-marinated food.
7. Once the grill plate has reached the desired temperature, you can place the
prepared pieces of meat, fish or vegetables on it.
8. As soon as the top layer of cheese has melted and slightly browned, pull the swivel
arm towards you and tilt the cheese holder by pushing the handle backwards and
allowing it to engage. Now you can scrape the melted cheese with the flat side of
the scraper onto a plate or directly onto a slice of bread.
Note: The appliance becomes very hot during use. Touch the cheese holder only by
the handle!
