Maintenance
Draining water from the filter element:
Drain water from the filter element regularly
(once a month) by unscrewing the plug on
the underside. See Drawing 2.
Replacing the Filter Element:
Replace the filter element once a year, or
after every 200 operating hours.
Proceed as follows:
- Shut off the fuel supply (close the valve)
‑ Drain the fuel from the filter. See Drawing 2
‑ Unscrew the filter element in the direction
of the arrow. See Drawing 3
‑ Fill the new filter element with clean fuel (4)
‑ Lubricate the sealing ring lightly with
engine oil (5)
‑ Screw on the new filter element in the
direction indicated. When the sealing
ring touches the sealing surface (6),
tighten the filter element by hand (do not
use tools) a maximum of a half to three-
quarters of a turn (7)

Bleeding:
Most current engines are self‑bleeding. If
this is not the case, you will have to bleed
the system yourself, after draining water or
replacing the filter element.
When the fuel supply pump is fitted in front
of the water separator/fuel filter, the system
can be bled via the hexagon bolt on the top
of the filter.
