Following the user instruction of the product and the inspection sheet, and without specific tools or a particular measuring device. Observe and touch each component of
the product in order to detect possible anomalies. If one of the checkpoints is defective, the product must be withdrawn from service and replaced by a compliant device,
or must be returned either to Kratos Safety or to an authorized service centre, in order to have the repairs performed.
Visually check the appearance of the fall arrester; it must be possible to inspect it.
Fall indicator & connectors:

Endings:
Check the condition of the endings: there cannot be any signs of wear, cuts, burns or deformation.

External absorber:
(Depending on the model) Check the condition of the external absorber by removing the black protective

cover; confirm that the absorber has not been activated. Confirm that the transparent protective sheath is present and check its
condition; complete a visual inspection of the absorber's strap to ensure it is undamaged.
Webbing:
Check the condition of the webbing along its entire length; no deformation, cuts, wear or burns can be tolerated.

Depending on the model, use the same criteria to check the transparent seam protection sheath; verify the condition of stitching
and the winding stop point.
Damper Guide:
Check the condition of the damper guide — it must be free of any parts that could damage the strap.

Functional verification:

Locking system
Check the operation of the locking system by pulling on the start, middle and end of the strap. When the locking system is engaged,
the strap must no longer be able to unwind or slip.
Self-retracting system
Check the operation of the strap's self-retracting system by unwinding the entire strap and then releasing the strap while guiding
it into the device. The return spring must reel in the entire strap along with the connector.
Access panel:
The device is fitted with a detachable panel enabling access to the internal mechanisms for a full inspection without

having to completely dismantle it.
To finish the inspection, you must remove the screws holding the panel then take the panel off and inspect the locking components
one at a time (pawls, pawl springs) to ensure they work.
If needed, blow air on the parts to eliminate accumulated dust.
When the inspection is over, put the access panel back on using the retainer screws.
Casings:
Check the condition of the casings; they cannot be deformed, broken, cut or worn.

Anchorage ring:
Check the condition of the anchorage ring; it cannot be deformed, oxidised, cut or worn. It must spin freely.
