Getting started:

Q Plug the power cable into the back of the unit
and then into the mains supply.
Q To switch the speaker on, press the power
switch at the back of the unit.
Q GEAR4 will appear on the LCD display for
approximately 30 seconds whilst the Wi-Fi
module configures. 'AirPlay' will then appear
to indicate the speaker is ready for set-up.
Q To switch between modes, press the MODE
button to scroll between the options (AirPlay /
FM / AUX / iPod ).
Set-up:

Q To stream music wirelessly to the AirZone
Series 1, the unit first needs to be registered
to your wireless home network.
Q Press the MENU button on the remote control.
Press or to scroll until Wi-Fi is shown.
Press ENTER. Scroll again using the or
keys until the desired network is shown.
Q Press ENTER and then input your Wi-Fi pass
code. Use the or keys or the ROTARY
VOLUME CONTROL to scroll between
characters. Move to the next character by
pressing on the remote control or on the
speaker. Press Enter when finished. After a
few seconds the display will show 'Wi-Fi'.
Q Now press MODE to return to the main
screen. Your speaker is set-up and ready to
use. You only need to perform this
configuration once.
Note: Depending on the configuration of your
Wi-Fi router, your password may be case-
sensitive. Please check before entering your
Wi-Fi password into the AirZone Series 1.
For use with iPod touch / iPhone
/ iPad / PC / Mac using iTunes:
Q Using your iPod touch, iPhone, iPad or iTunes
on your PC or Mac, you can stream music
wirelessly to the AirZone Series 1, over Wi-Fi.
Q Once you have completed the set-up process
above, simply access your music library and
select a song. will appear near the bottom
right hand corner.
Q Tap . Now select the GEAR4 AirZone.
There will be a short delay before the track
you've selected sounds from the speaker.
Q You can also skip tracks, pause, stop or
control the volume of your speaker from your
device, all through Wi-Fi.
For use with iPod / iPhone / iPad:
Q Carefully insert your iPod / iPhone / iPad into
the dock.
Q Press the MODE button to select iPod mode.
Note that the iPod must be connected to the
dock in order for the iPod option to be shown.
Note: The remote may not be able to control the
iPad when it is docked.
Q Press play on your iPod / iPhone / iPad and
control the music using your device or use
the remote control to navigate the iPod /
iPhone / iPad menus.
For use with FM radio:
Q Press the MODE button to select FM mode.
Q Press and hold or to scan
automatically to the next clear frequency.
Q To change between preset radio stations, use
the and buttons.
To save a preset frequency:
Q You can save up to 10 FM presets.
Q Select the preset number you want to save by
using the and buttons. Adjust the
radio to your desired frequency then press
and hold the button, the display will show
'Stored'.
For use with other music
players:
Q Press the MODE button to select AUX mode.
Q Plug a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) into
your MP3 or MP4 player and connect the
other end into the AUX IN port at the back of
the speaker.
Q Use your device to control the music.
Note: The remote will not control devices
connected via a 3.5mm cable.
EQ settings:
Q Press EQ on the remote control or the
speaker to scroll through the equaliser
settings - ROCK, POP, BASS, CLASSICAL,
JAZZ, ACOUSTIC or OFF.
Q The default EQ mode is OFF. The speaker
will revert to this when powered on and off.
Q The speaker will use the last used EQ when
switched on from standby.
