Application
Fingerprint module as access control
system with function LED.
Suitable for:
• Stand-alone operation
• Operation with entrance controller
EC 602-...
Programming takes place using
PRI 602-... USB or PRI 602-... and
PRS 602-...
Electrical voltage
Mounting, installation and servicing
work on electrical devices may only
be performed by a suitably qualified
electrician.
Conductor material
Telecommunication or light current
conductors can be used for instal-
lation:
J-Y(St)Y
Twisted pair conduc-
tors, shielded
A2Y(St)2Y Buried telecommunica-
tion cable
Range
The conductor network laid
throughout the entire Vario bus
must not exceed 2000 m.
The loop resistance (forward and
return line between the functional
unit and the control unit) must not
exceed 20 Ohm.
With a core diameter of 0.8 mm, the
range between the Fingerprint and
the transformer is limited to 130 m.
The power supply to the Vario bus
components is provided via a sepa-
rate transformer TR 602-...
Steps must be taken to ensure that
the supply voltage never falls below
9 V AC at any time at maximum cur-
rent input to each device.

Commissioning
The FPM 611-... fingerprint module
is an access control system used
in stand-alone mode (as an inde-
pendent system) as well as in the
Siedle Vario bus.
In this system, a scanned fingerprint
is used to actuate a function (such as
a door release).
Up to max. 100 users (scannable fin-
gerprints) can be managed in each
operating mode.
Vario bus operation
In bus operation, fingerprints are
scanned and deleted using the pro-
gramming interface PRI 602-..., pro-
gramming software PRS 602-... and
an IBM compatible PC. Operation
and the procedures for this are
described in the programming
instructions for the EC 602-...
Initialisation
The device starts up automati-
cally as soon as power is supplied.
Alternately flashing left and right
LEDs indicate that the device is
starting up. This generally takes
about 10 seconds.
After initialisation, the device
switches to one of three states:
A) Ready for operation
B) Teach-in mode
C) Error status
A) Right LED (green) is lit continu-
ously: Startup OK; fingerprints have
already been taught-in: Ready for
operation.
B) Left LED (red) is lit continuously:
Startup OK; fingerprints have not yet
been taught-in: Teach-in mode.
C) Left LED (red) flashes and right
LED (green) lights up: Incorrect
startup (e.g. incorrect address, hard-
ware fault): Error state.
