The pump is meant to use for pumping clean water and cannot be used for pumping inflammable fluids or
in rooms where explosive danger exists. Because the pump is powered by electricity, any contact between
the power supply and the fluids to be pumped has to be avoided.
The pump is equipped with a non return valve, preventing water with disinfectant, can run back into the
barrel.
Filling and venting the pump
Attention: Putting an empty pump into operation will cause damages to the mechanical covering!!!
The head of the pump has to be filled with water first, before this can be put into operation. Water can be
supplied to the head of the pump by connecting the filling hose to the lower pipe of the repercussion
valve-set on top of the pump. Open the handle and let it fill with water. Then connect the filling tube to the
storage container again and the pump can be put into operation.
7. Troubleshooting
Malfunctions of the pump
Problem:
1.
Motor does not start
2. Motor is running, but
no
water
3. Does no suck sufficient
water
22
Cause:
a) No tension
b) Fan blocks
c) Defect to the electric
circuit
a) Foot valve blocked
b) Air suction
a) Foot valve partly
stopped up
b) Fan blocks
c) Motor is overheated
Solution:
Check cable tension
Check electric
connections
Dismantle the fan
and clean it
Contact Schippers
Clean valve
Check air pipe for
leakages
Look if foot valve is
under water
Clean the foot valve,
and if needed the
whole suction pipe,
water proceeds
Dismantle the pump
and clean the pump-
body and the fan
carefully
Check voltage and
ventilation
