tool is operating at full speed. The opera-
tor can manage the recoil and reaction forces
by taking suitable precautions.
b) Never move your hand into the vicinity of
rotating plug-in tools. The plug-in tool may
catch your hand if it suff ers recoil.
c) Keep your body out the area into which
the electric tool will be moved if it suff ers
recoil.
Recoil will throw the electric tool into the
direction opposite to the grinding/sanding
wheel at the point at which it is blocked.
d) Work with particular care around corners,
sharp edges, etc. Ensure that the plug-in
tool does not bounce off or jam in the
workpiece. At corners, sharp edges or if it
bounces, the rotating plug-in tool will tend to
jam. This will result in loss of control or recoil.
e) Do not use chain saw blades, toothed
saw blades or segmented diamond cut-
ting wheels with slots wider than 10mm.
These plug-in tools often cause recoil or loss
of control of the electric tool.
f)
Avoid blocking the cutting-off wheel or
applying excessive contact pressure.
Do not make any excessively deep cuts.
Overloading the cutting-off wheel will increa-
se the stress on it and its susceptibility to jam
or block and therefore the possibility of recoil
or of the grinding wheel breaking.
g) If the cutting-off wheel jams or you inter-
rupt your work, switch off the tool and
hold it still until the wheel has reached a
complete standstill. Never attempt to pull
the cuttingoff wheel out of the cut whilst
it is still rotating, otherwise it may suff er
recoil. Find and rectify the cause of the jam.
h) Do not switch the electric tool on again
whilst it is inside the workpiece. Allow
the cuttingoff disk to reach its full speed
before you continue the cut with care.
Otherwise the wheel may catch, jump out of
the workpiece or cause recoil.
i)
Support panels or large workpieces to
reduce the risk of recoil by a jammed
cuttingoff wheel. Large workpieces may sag
under their own weight. The workpiece must
be supported on both sides of the wheel both
near the cut and also at the edge.
j)
Be particularly careful with "pocket cuts"
in existing walls or in areas which you
cannot see clearly. As the cutting-off disk
enters the cut it may suff er recoil if it cuts into
gas or water pipes, electric cables or other
objects.

Special safety instructions
Danger!
•
Should the power cable become damaged
during work, do not touch it. Pull out the po-
wer plug immediately. Any damaged power
cables on the electric tool must be replaced
either by the manufacturer or a service com-
pany authorized by the manufacturer.
•
Check that the speed shown on the diamond
cutting wheels is the same or higher than the
rated speed for the masonry channel cutter.
•
Check that the diamond cutting wheels are of
the correct size for the device.
•
Diamond cutting wheels must be handled
and stored with care in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
•
Examine the diamond cutting wheels each
time before using them. Never use products
which have parts broken off or are cracked or
in any other way damaged.
•
Check that the diamond cutting wheels
have been fitted in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions.
•
Ensure that the diamond cutting wheels are
correctly fitted and fastened before you start
to use the device. Allow the tool to run without
load and in a safe position for 30 seconds;
stop the device immediately if it vibrates hea-
vily or if any other faults become apparent. If
this should be the case, examine the machine
to find the cause.
•
Never use separate reducer sleeves or ad-
apters to make diamond cutting wheels with
larger holes fit onto the device.
•
Before using the device, take precautions to
ensure that flying sparks do not cause any
danger (e.g. hit anyone or cause inflammable
substances to ignite).
•
If dust is generated during working, ensure
that the air vents are kept clear. If you should
have to remove dust, disconnect the electric
tool from the mains power supply first (use
non-metallic objects only) and take care not
to damage any parts inside the tool.
•
The wheels will continue to turn for a while
after the tool has been switched off.
•
Never subject the diamond cutting wheels to
any pressure from the side. Always switch off
the device and wait for it to come to a comple-
te stop before you set it down.
•
Check that the mains power supply voltage is
the same as that specified on the rating plate.
•
Connect the electric tool to the mains pow-
er supply (230V~) via a socket-outlet with
earthing contact with maximum 16A protec-
