Place and Receive Regular Telephone Calls
If you have your USB Telephone Adapter connected to a telephone line,
you can place and receive regular telephone calls as you normally would.
For more information on the features of your USB Telephone Adapter,
(call forwarding, call conferencing, toll bypass, etc.) see the User Guide
on the USRobotics Installation CD-ROM.
Troubleshooting
My computer is not detecting the USB Telephone Adapter.
Solution 1:
Verify the USB cable of the telephone adapter is securely connected to a
USB port on your computer.
Solution 2:
There may have been an error during the installation process. Unplug
the telephone adapter from your computer and repeat the installation.
My installation failed.
Solution 1:
The USB Telephone Adapter may install with the incorrect drivers if the
telephone adapter was connected to the computer prior to the start of
the installation. If your installation fails, uninstall the telephone adapter
and perform the installation steps again. To uninstall the USB Telephone
Adapter Software:
1.
Click Windows Start.

Windows XP: Select Control Panel and open Add or Remove
Programs.
•
Windows 2000: Select Settings, then select Control Panel
and open Add/Remove Programs.

Select the USRobotics USB Telephone Adapter.
•
Windows XP: Select Remove and follow the prompts to
remove the USB Telephone Adapter software.
•
Windows 2000: Select Add/Remove and follow the prompts
to remove the USB Telephone Adapter software.
Solution 2:
The USB Telephone Adapter cannot be installed on a computer when a
Smart Link 56K modem SmartUSB56 is connected to the computer.
