100 V Audio Transformer
GB
for LR-1000SAT
Please read these operating instructions carefully
prior to operation and keep them for later reference.
1 Applications
This transformer can be used to operate the four
speaker systems of the set LR-1000SAT in a PA
system with 100 V technology. The transformer fea-
tures the same housing as the speaker systems
and can thus be easily mounted to the speaker sys-
tems. With the switch on the rear side of the hous-
ing, one of three power levels can be selected.
2 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
G
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity and heat (admissible ambient tempera-
ture range: 0 – 40 °C).
G
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth; never use
water or chemicals.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability
for any resulting personal damage or material
damage will be accepted if the unit is used for
other purposes than originally intended, if it is
not mounted in an expert way, if it is not correctly
connected or if it is overloaded.
If the unit is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling plant
for a disposal which is not harmful to the
environment.

3 Installation
3.1 Mounting the transformer with
the frame LR-1000F
If the speaker systems are suspended (flown) by
means of the frame LR-1000F (as shown in fig. 1),
install the transformer between the frame and the
speaker systems.
1) Place the vertical mounting rails at the front
edges of the transformer onto the two front con-
necting plates that stick out of the frame and fix
each of the mounting rails with a ball lock bolt (1).
Press the pin of a bolt to unlock the bolt, then
put the bolt through the drill holes up to the stop
and finally release the pin. Always check the
connection and make sure that the bolt cannot
be removed without unlocking.
2) As shown in the figure, connect the rear side of
.
the transformer and the fixing straps (2) at the
centre strut of the frame with a hexagon socket
screw (4), a ball lock bolt (1) and the connecting
plate (3).
3) Proceed in the same way to connect the upper
speaker system to the transformer.
3.2 Mounting the transformer with
the mounting bracket LR-1000U
If the speaker systems are mounted onto a stand
by means of the mounting bracket LR-1000U (as
shown in fig. 2), install the transformer beneath the
speaker systems.
1) Remove the five lateral cover screws (hexagon
socket screws) from the speaker system that is
located above the transformer.
2) Tightly screw the speaker system on both sides
to the mounting bracket (
3) Place the mounting bracket with the speaker
systems onto the stand or the spacer tube and
fix it with the setscrew (7).
4) For alignment, release the upper screw (5) on
both sides, incline the systems as desired
(±15°) and retighten the screws.

4 Electrical Connection
WARNING During operation, there is a hazard of
contact with a voltage of up to 100 V
at the connection cable. Installation
must be made by skilled personnel
only.
Observe the load of the PA amplifier by the
speaker systems. The amplifier may be damaged
when overloaded! The total power of all speaker
systems connected must not exceed the amplifier
power.
1) Before connecting the speaker systems, first
switch off the PA amplifier so that the 100 V
audio line will not carry any voltage!
2) Supply the core ends of the 100 V audio line
with a two-pole or four-pole Speakon plug (e. g.
NL-2... or NL-4... from NEUTRIK). Observe the
polarity (when using a four-pole plug, connect
the contacts 1+ and 1−).
Mark the plug in a striking manner to make
sure that nobody will ever inadvertently connect
it directly to a speaker system.
3) Connect the 100 V audio line to the jack "IN
100 V".
Insert the plug into the jack and then turn the
plug to the right until it engages. To remove the
plug, pull back the latch on the plug and turn the
plug to the left.
4) Connect the jack "OUT 4 Ω" of the transformer
to the jack "IN" of the adjacent speaker system.
Connect the jack "OUT" of the speaker system
to the jack "IN" of the second speaker system.
5) Proceed in the same way to connect the third
speaker system to the second one and to con-
nect the fourth speaker system to the third one.
Each speaker system has a nominal imped-
ance of 16 Ω so that the transformer will be
loaded with a total impedance of 4 Ω when all
four speaker systems are connected in parallel.
Never connect more than four speaker systems
in parallel to the transformer; otherwise, the
transformer may be overloaded!
If a smaller number of speaker systems is
connected to the transformer, the power will
be reduced accordingly (
former).
6) Use the rotary switch (6) on the rear side of the
transformer to select the power (volume) de -
sired.
