Profi-Heater
Before installing this device, please read the instructions very carefully.
Profi-Heaters for heating pond water or fish systems.
These heating elements are available in the following models:
- Profi-Heater 1kW (860 kcal/h)
- Profi-Heater 2kW (1720 kcal/h)
- Profi-Heater 3kW (2580 kcal/h)
Directions
To raise the temperature of 1 m
on surface area and any insulation that may be present. All models have been fitted with an adjustable thermostat that can be regulated up to
40°C. The heating element with the temperature probe(B), as well as the inside of the casing have been manufactured out of high-quality stainless
steel. Profi-Heaters can be connected using pond tubing (ø 25, 32 and 40 mm) or PVC tubing (ø 50 and 63 mm).
Safety
• Always remove the plug from the socket when mounting, dismantling or servicing the heater.
• Do not use the heater if any of the parts are damaged.
• Switch the heater off when the water is not flowing. Ensure an adequate flow of water at all times. Insufficient flow can cause the element to
overheat and burn out. Ensure that the apparatus never runs dry. For this reason, always ensure that the Profi-Heater is installed horizontally, with the
inlet and outlet on top.
• The requirements of the Electricity Company must be met when this heater is to be connected as a permanent feature. If in any doubt, please
contact a licensed electrician or the Electricity Company.
Maintenance
• This heater must never be submerged under water. It must always be installed outside the pond or bowl.
• The Profi-Heater needs no maintenance. The manufacturer must always do any needed repairs. The adjustable thermostat must never be
opened. All guarantees expire once the thermostat has been opened.
• The element may not be covered in lime scale or caked dirt. Ensure that the water is free of lime and place a filter in front of the heating element.
• Prevent air getting into the system. If a part of the element is not covered with water, this section can become over heated and cause the
element to burn out.
Installation
• The Profi heater has 63mm couplings for a glueable connection; glueable adapters to 50mm are provided. When using PVC tubing ensure that
there is no strain on the connection to the frogs.
• Cut the tube connectors to the required length (or use the frogs) and twist these, as well as the rubber sealing ring, into the 50 mm adapter by
hand. Prevent any damage by only using the connectors and frogs provided.
• Ensure that the apparatus never runs dry. For this reason, always ensure that the Profi-Heater is installed horizontally, with the inlet and outlet on top.
This ensures that there will always be water in the apparatus, even if the pump should fall out accidentally.
• Connect the pump to the Profi-Heater and switch the pump on. Check the system for flow and leakage. In case of leakage on the tube connectors,
(never force them!) use a piece of Teflon tape on the thread of the connection.
• Put the plug into the socket and set the thermostat to the desired temperature. As soon as the set temperature has been reached, the light will
go off.

Guarantee conditions

The product is guaranteed against manufacturing faults for 2 years from the date of purchase. No guarantee can ever be given on the element
burning out and causing a short. Guarantee claims can only be handled if the product is returned post-paid and providing a valid proof of purchase
is included. Guarantee claims which are caused by installation or operating faults will not be recognised. Defects arising from lack of maintenance
do not fall under the guarantee. Guarantee repairs may only be carried out by the supplier. The supplier can not be held liable for consequential
damage arising from failure, faulty maintenance or incorrect use of equipment. The guarantee will lapse if extra facilities are added to the product
or if changes are made to the product which are not part of the standard equipment (for example the use of 'third-party' connectors, cutting off
the plug or the drilling of extra holes).
